Every year there are players who are not on NBA Draft radars for the most part of their college career. Which player do you see becoming a NBA prospect when it is said & done from performing well?

    My player on the radar…….

    Dexter Strickland UNC

To only average 7.5 ppg, he plays with a high motor & does things that do not show up on the stat sheet. He may not have the handle or be the ideal sized SG, but he plays hard. Dex has that "it" about him, that I see in him to prove everyone wrong by his Sr. year. If he takes the time out to work on his handle & J whenever that may be he will be a force for UNC.

justin holiday of washington is a guy who could sneak into the second round this year. He is a nba caliber defender with length and is a decent athlete and shooter. Playing well in the tournament would help him.

The people I like to keep on my radar are the pretty highly touted freshman who don’t play up to expectations right away and get forgotten about or who just don’t get brought up too much when it comes to the draft. I like to keep tabs on them. Guys like like Michael Snaer for FSU, Dante Taylor for Pitt, Kenny Gabriel for Auburn and Royce White (because I’ve met him). All were top 20-30 prospects in their class.

Of the ones above I think Snaer could be pretty good.

I like Snaer as well, he really is a sleeper. Has a nice stroke & can slash, 4-year player.

John Holland is a 6’5 SG from Boston who I saw play today against Stoney Brook who I think is a fringe prospect this year.  Could show what he’s all about in the first round against a high-seeded team.

I havent seen UCONN’s Jeremy Lamb hasnt been on many boards but hes probably staying in school, I really like his pro propects. I think Roscoe Smith, also from UCONN, will be very good in 2-3 years in college.

He won’t come out this year I don’t think. Last year shot 29 from 3 this year he improved that to 41% and is 6ft3 with a 7 foot wingspan. I like his vision and rebounding at the PG spot. Arm length make him versatile on d.

Diante Garrett for Iowa State is my favorite sleeper for the 2011 draft. He’s a pure playmaker who has good size at 6’3 190, nice quickness and athleticism, and even though he’s not a great jump shooter, he’s improved substantially since last season. He’s on a team with no other shot-creators, so he’s forced to shoulder an overwhelming scoring load (which hurts his efficiency), but he’s a good player and I think he’s a NBA player. Reminds me of Ramon Sessions, and even though Sessions was blessed with a good opportunity as a D-League call-up, Garrett might have the ability to work his way up to the NBA in similar fashion.

Even though he continues to underachieve, Baylor’s Anthony Jones is another borderline prospect with interesting upside. He’s 6’10 205 as a guy who can play SG-PF, and he possesses a sweet jump shot and good athleticism and coordination. Seems like an Omri Casspi type of player. He needs more aggressiveness, but when he does play aggressive he’s a HUGE mismatch. Look out for him next year.

The last guy I really like is Gerald Robinson Jr. of UGA. He’s small at 6’0 165-170 and a combo gaurd, but he’s very quick, confident, and aggressive. He’ll have to work on his jump shot, but if you think about it, he’s not very dissimilar to Dexter Strickland, except he’s been more productive for UGA playing alongside Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie.

I am going to go with Jimmy Butler from Marquette. His game reminds me a lot of Wes Matthews except for his lack of a 3 point shot. He is a strong defender, especially in the post, has the size at 6’7 220, and has a knack for getting to the free throw line…and converting.

Not saying he is going to be a starter but should be a quality bench guy because of his defense and decent scoring abilities.

Delroy James has the size and athleticism to be a really nice defensive player, and he might have enough of an offensive game to make it work.
