Who would you rather have? I am a huge fan of Burke and think he could be a really special player, but I also think Bledsoe can turn into a stud as well. Bledsoe is going to be cheap next year, but in the summer of 2014 he is going to get a good size raise where Burke would still be on a rookie contract for a few years. Bledsoe is going to get paid and I doubt it is going to by the Clippers if Paul stays. I would love to see Burke backing up Paul for a few years, but this all could be irrelevant if Paul chooses to leave LA.

The Magic could easily fall to 4, but if you are the Magic, Kings, Pelicans, or even the Suns or Pistons would you trade your lottery pick for Bledsoe?

I’d definitely have Bledsoe because he is a lock for a breakout season next year, he is also great defensively while Burke might be a better shooter, Bledsoe out does Burke with his athletism, ability to get to the rim, and defense.

Burke is the better and more talented player even right now. Bledsoe really only has speed and athletism on him. Burke can score, shoot, pass and actually knows how to run a team

If you want a poor man’s westbrook wreaking havok on an opponent’s defense, go with bledsoe. If you want your other players actually getting the ball sometimes and in the right spots, burke is your man.

I watched every clipper game this year and have been a big fan of Bledsoe since Kentucky but I’d take Burke for the fact that he’s a true PG with a better shot and more importantly a better leader. I’m one of those people who think whoever gives Bledsoe a big contract will have buyers remorse. He’s a freak athlete who’s very strong on defense but can’t initiate an offense.

Only 1 of those 2 guys is a pg. Burke. Personally, I think Bledsoe is a career 6th man. Not a bad thing at all, he’s just not really a one, but he’s a better matchup off the bench than starting.

Bledsoe wasn’t able to silence the critics during the stint where Paul was injured. He had great stat lines but the team struggled as a whole. That being said, all that proves is that Bledsoe is not CP3. The coaching staff was horrible in creating a real offensive game plan, so when Paul wasn’t out there making magic happen the team was bound to have problems.

It depends. If you want a poor man’s Russell Westbrook, more of a scorer and a pesky defender, than Bledsoe is your guy. But if you want a poor man’s CP3, a more traditional PG and a leader, than Trey Burke is your guy.

    I’d go Beldsoe and here’s why….
I just don’t see how Burke is going to match up against bigger athletic PG’s for example Jrue Holiday, Russ Westbrook, John Wall etc… This would be especially true if he’s closer to the 5’10” I suspect he is. Burke is currently listed at 6’0″ 190 lbs, while Bledsoe is listed at 6’1″ 195 lbs. Now if you look at a photo comparison of the two, Bledsoe looks noticeably bigger further compounding my suspicion that Burke’s measurables are just a tad bit inflated. I think Burke and even Marcus Smart before he withdrew being rated so high is just a classic case of a draft being so devoid of PG prospects that it’s causing normally marginal players to look a little better than usual. Its like being in jail for 10 years and the 300 pound deputy named Bertha starts looking like a good piece because she’s the only female around. I honestly think Burke is going to struggle out of the gate, but once he gets it together (and I think I’m being generous) I think his ceiling will be in the range of 17ppg, 3rpg, 8apg, 2.0spg, 0.2bpg, 44%fg,38%3fg 83%ft which are very respectable numbers especially for this draft… just not elite numbers in any one category.
As for Bledsoe, size and athleticism aren’t concerns. His wingspan is of the freakish variety and his physique is closer to that of an NFL running back rather than your typical PG. He’s already an elite rebounder for his position, and a guy who can rack up steals with the best of them to the point that he has league leading potential in that category. If you look at his per 40 numbers, they suggest he can be at the very least a 17ppg,6rpg,6apg,2.8spg,1.0bpg,45%fg,31%3fg type player… Not too advanced in comparison to what I project Burke’s ceiling to be, but remember that’s extrapolating Bledsoe’s current production versus what I see as Burke’s ceiling production… and again, Bledsoe still gets the edge due to his phenomenal rebounding and defensive abilities. Not to mention Bledsoe will only get better with time, and given consistent minutes he has the potential to raise his production to the 20/7/7/3/1 range which are borderline if not elite. Though I personally never see Bledsoe being a Top 10 PG in the league due to just how deep the current PG crop is, I think he’s a lot closer than Burke.

So how does Chris Paul guard guys like holiday, wall and Westbrook? Just fine. Burke will be fine. And Burke is 6’0 exactly as I have seen him up close. Also people don’t realize that Bledsoe can’t run a team and is a scoring point guard who’s not even that great of a scorer

I would go with bledsoe all the way. Hes got the experience besides i think he is better in every aspect of the game except for shooting. I love Trey B but Bledsoe is a gem

Bledsoe is the pretty obvious choice. As others have mentioned, size is almost everything in the NBA, particularly when it comes to defense. Bledsoe has the higher ceiling, is the better athlete, is the better defender, has more experience, and is going to contribute right away.

I suppose if you’re talking about the Miami Heat, where all you need is a distributor/shooter, then I’d take Burke. But if you need a playmaker on your team (and that’s basically every NBA franchise) then you take Bledsoe.

I mean right now I don’t even think it’s close who you choose…Bledsoe all day for now.

Bledsoe is a freak athlete, a top tier defender, possibly the best shot blocking guard in the NBA already, crazy strong, long wingspan, alot of untapped potential and to top it off he’s been learning under one of the best PG’s in the NBA for 2 years in CP3, right now Bledsoe is the better choice by far.

Agreed, Bledsoe all the way… That’s why there’s no doubt the Clips will end up receiving a pretty high lotto pick for this kid. The dude ready to breakout he just need starter minutes. While this draft is weak there are players that can help the Clips like Len or Zeller both upgrades over Jordan. Anyhow, time for the Clips to trade Bledsoe kid has too much trade value to loose him for nothing next offseason

I’m not really a big fan of Burke, but I’d probably take him over Bledsoe just because Burke is more of an unknown. He could end up being a very good PG. Personally, I think Bledsoe will be the better player when it’s all said and done, but I’d probably go for Burke because he has a chance to prove me wrong

To answer your question. As a pistons fan i wouldn’t trade this years lotto pick for Bledsoe as a Bledsoe / Knight backcourt wouldn’t work. Assuming we get approx the 7th pick. If burke, porter and dipo are off the board I would happily trade the pick for Ty Evans or J Lamb
