Right now they have the 10th pick in the draft, and I think if they can trade up a few picks they should pick Oladipo as he’d be a great fit next to Lilliard and Batum in their backcourt. They can throw in their 10th some 2nd round picks as they have the 39th, 40th, and 45th. And maybe a player and cash. It just seems like a smart fit if they can make the deal.

      1. Acquire as many picks as possible.

      2. Aside from Leonard, Barton, and Maynor, fire the entire bench. They’re all terrible.

      3. Pick up as many cheap young players and free agents as possible and hope a few work out.

      Simple.

I heard they want to trade the pick for a veteran center. Someone like Gortat perhaps.

A lot to like about the Blazers now: Lillard, Batum, Aldridge, Leonard.

They need depth: a backup PG, SF, PF, and C (if Hickson goes). Hickson should stay for his own good, but if he leaves, they should grab someone like Rudy Gobert… someone who’ll be good in a few years.

It’s hard to argue against them taking Shabazz if they get him 10th, but do they need a ball hog? Besides, at SG, Mathews isn’t horrible, and Wil Barton really rocked his only 5 starts at the end season (decent percentages and excellent rebounds, steals). They did lose all those games though.

They can’t get much with all those 2nd round picks, maybe a low 1st round pick.

Will Barton and Wes Matthews are a sufficient SG combo. I think a sign n trade with Minny for Pekovic would be a logical option. Minny would then have picks 9 and 10

Pekovic is much more valuable than a top 10 pick in this years draft.

love oladipo i think the blazers would be a great fit for him and the team but honestly i think most of the teams in the top ten are great places for oladipo and he fits most of these teams.

I think the Blazers go big. They drafted Myers Leonard, last year, and I think he’ll be ready for some decent minutes next year, but I still think they go big. Portland was a below average rebounding team, and the only PF or C other than Leonard that got decent minutes was Victor Claver. They need some depth and with a late lotto pick. Cody Zeller, Kelly Olynyk, Steven Adams, Mason Plumlee, could all be in play in the first, or someone could drop and they could get the BPA.

They could still address their front court depth with some NBA ready guys with their slew of 2nd round picks. Jackie Carmichael, Brandon Davies, Trevor Mbawke, Kenny Kadji, or Alex Oriakhi could all play minutes next year if Portland went for a guy like Bazz in the 1st.
