JM40ParticipantI’m hearing a lot of talk about the Big 10 having 4 lottery picks this year (Zeller, Burke, Oladipo, and Robinson III). Anyone think that’s a stretch or is that spot on? I heard Bilas even likes Oladipo in the 10-14 range, and now that Michigan is ranked #1 I’m hearing some talk about McGary coming out based on pure potential (a la Daniel Orton 2 years ago). Any thoughts?

r377ParticipantOladipo has been playing well of late – there still is alot of bball to play yet. He could very well sneak into the lottery. I am not a fan of Robinson III

WolfRobParticipantI just think Victor in the lottery is a stretch! He is a first rounder though

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantVictor is mid-late first round, why aren’t you a fan of GR3? He’s been a very good defender/ off ball scorer and he has good basketball genes; he hasn’t been able to showcase his full abilities as he plays third fiddle to Burke and Hardaway

HaleParticipantI’m huge on Glen Robinson III. He’s got a really bright future ahead of him. I’d take him in the top 10.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantMe too, I would love to see him or Otto Porter go to Detroit, it’s alot of Andre Iguodala in his game

Chilbert arenasParticipantMcGary coming out early is laughable

DipoTimeParticipantHow is Robinson III a lotter pick but Oladipo is mid to late first round? Robinson has more upside bc of good genes? Bc he is younger? Bc he plays well as a third option? Look I know he has a really solid game but look at Hardaway Jr. The exact same thing was said his freshman year and now people are seeing what kind of player he really is. Almost nobody in the nation has improved as much as Oladipo in his 3 years. He was hardly recruited and nothing but an athlete and now he does everything for his teams. I’m not sold as Robinson being a two so I would say that for their positions Oladipo has him beat in every category. Your only arguments are age and genes and lets face it.. It doesn’t matter who your daddy is or how old you are.. You either have what it takes or you don’t. High schoolers, college seniors, 27 yr old international players, who cares? I’m taking Oladipo over Robinson all day every day

SiggyParticipantI hope that GR3 returns so he can improve his ball skills and show what he can do as more of a feature player, but I wouldn’t hold it against him if he left early.
I love Oladipo’s game and I’ve been higher on him than most on this site. I have yet to see any other mocks on this site or other that also have him in the mid teens. Having said all that, the reason why GR3 is held in higher regard is not just because of his pedigree (I personally hate those reasons), but because he’s as good as he is already as a freshman. Yes, Oladipo has improved greatly in the span of 3 yrs, but GR3 is at a higher starting point and he can improve as well. GR3 has everything you would want from a prospect at the most basic level: size, athleticism, skill, is good defensively and has a high IQ.

Kyrie Irvingi think you seen my mock on my other account.
i had him at 24 you had him at 24. you recently moved him to mid teens and its because he has been tearing it up, no surprise there.
.
BTW i had him at 24 not because you had him at 24.0- Posted on: Fri, 02/01/2013 - 9:09pm #743892

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYou do realize victor is a junior while Robinson is a freshman yet his overall skills are better, GR3 is better than he looks but is kept in check by Burke and Hardaway

DipoTimeParticipantWho cares about age and class that is soooo overrated when it comes to potential. I get that he has good skills and all around ability as a young freshman but who cares? Michael Beasly and Kevin Durant had similar success dominating as freshmen. We all know who is better. Kobe was awesome out of high school. Brandon Roy took 4 years but was still awesome. It doesn’t matter! Each players potential depends on the individual. You have your opinion and I have mine. I just honestly believe Oladipo has every tool he needs to be very successful.

r377ParticipantA good friendly debate with no negs…. i like it

r377ParticipantI have not watched alot of Michigan or Indiana. Ive only watched bits and pieces so maybe I was a bit off.
Maybe I was watching Hardaway and Burke too much, maybe I was expecting a bit more because his dad was a big time college scorer. For a lotto pick, I like to see a player shine and stand out. Alot of players get drafted on potential alone and not backing it up by putting up the numbers. McAdoo almost fooled alot of ppl last year and could of got drafted in the lottery. There have been numerous topics/posts about Perry Jones over the past couple of years, that despite not putting up good numbers that he should be a top 3 or top 5 draft pick…..
I will watch these two prospects especially in March before i pass judgement….

ReactionParticipantAs a Pistons fan I really hope we can draft either Shabazz, Mclemore, or Burke. Shabazz/Mclemore would fix either our SG or SF needs and Burke would provide us with a much needed PG as I see Knight as more of a SG/6th man type player. But back to the original question.. I do think that there could be 4 players but its all dependent on the combine and the NCAA playoffs.

Xwarrior7ParticipantOladipo is going to be a late lottery pick that some GMs will be kicking themselves later for not drafting. I do think he can and will move up to the 10-14 range (especially in such a weak draft). GR3 does have better upside or potential in the longer run but not by a whole lot.

r377ParticipantI have watched a couple more michigan games. I am just not that sold on GR3 being a lotto pick. I am almost going to nickname him “the invisible man” – half the time you dont’ even notice him out there…
At this point he hasn’t done much to stand out. I hope he doesn’t delcare this year and comes back to improve his game….

raybeasParticipantI think the consensus is he will come back, but do you guys think he would be a lottery pick this year? Where is he in the SG pecking order? I like him as a prospect better than Robinson, and could see him in the late lotto.
