kerrstParticipantAfter watchin Bryan Colangelo’s year end press conference it is obvious Bargnani’s days in Toronto are numbered. So I was wondering if Phoenix would be interested in trading Robin Lopez (who has dropped in the rotation thanks to his slow recovery from injury and the emergence of Gortat as a double/double starter) and the expiring contract of Mikael Pietrus for Bargnani.
At first I wasn’t sure if this was enough for Barg’s but I’m not sure the Raps will be able to get more. Bargnani would be a legit PF playing beside Gortat who could go after rebounds and block shots while Bargnani has the freedom to roam. Just think of him as a better Channing Frye, as Frye could be the backup PF/C.
The Raps would finally get a legitimate center and someone to play defense in Lopez, not to mention Pietrus is a nice veteran perimeter defender, who can shoot the 3, all area’s where Toronto needs to improve.
Let me know if you think the trade is fair or if the Raps or Suns would be interested?

HitsterParticipantAs a Phoenix fan, I’d love this deal as it would give us a 20ppg big man we lost when STAT moved to NY and alongside Gortat the issues with Barg’s rebounding would not be such an issue. But realistically Toronto would probably want Gortat, Brooks and picks to part with Bargnani.

kerrstParticipantI also was looking at Toronto getting Brooks in a sign and trade as part of this deal with Phoenix taking back a player like Kleiza. If its Brooks, Lopez and Pietrus…..I’m cool with that.

OhCanada-ParticipantI know you think Toronto’s GM is stupid but not that stupid. Trade value for value, Raps would want Gortat not Robin "splinters" Lopez.

kerrstParticipantBut I don’t think he is stupid. He just hasn’t shown me anything when it comes to making the big trades. He makes fantastic minor trades(Bayless, Amir, Weems, Bellinelli) but its the big trades where he is lacking (O’Neal, Marion). Look around the league at available centers thru trade and the pool is pretty thin….Lopez, Kaman, Haywood, Biedrins. I still think free agency is the better route for centers but a deal that nets the Raps Lopez, Brooks and Pietrus is worth it in my opinion.

CodySLCParticipantI doubt the Raptors would trade their best player for two role players

kobejohn89ParticipantWe won’t likely trade bargnani unless we get legit players in return. Lopez is a bench player and we don’t need picks (for this year at least). At this point kamen looks better than Lopez. I would also think we’d go after Marc Gasol in resticted free agency. Don’t give us your garbage. WE DON’T WANT IT.
