royk927ParticipantI would like to see how the hawks handle free agency. I like the Magnum Rolle signing but i sense someone will get traded if the hawks are not competitive in the second round any thoughts

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThey are in a tough spot unless they can get D-Williams or CP3.. When that window passes, they will have to hope the Teague develops into a leader.

delfamParticipant^ to get money for one of them won’t they have to let Smith go?

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI would think so.. I would do it though.. With CP3 or DWill, JJ would be fantastic and might live up to that crazy contract. Also, I think that Horford is best served as the 4 with a defensive minded C playing beside him.. Marvin Williams is a servicable 3 because he defends and can knock down the open shot.

omphalosParticipantWho said anything about the Hawks making the second round?

NashyMingParticipantFrankly, giving Joe Johnson that crazy contract was a horrible decision. They should have S&T him to another and get some quality young players/picks back instead. They should have built around Josh Smith and Al Hortford and surround them with young players. Joe Johnson is good, but not MAX OUT good.
If the Hawks have to trade away Josh Smith this summer to free up cap room, it would be even worst. With the shaky ownership group and the rumor that Josh Smith is not working too well with the coaching staffs, it seems very likely though.

TeamShowtimeLakersParticipanttheir future does look shaky because of the money committed to joe johnson and the fact that they need a center to let horford play power forward…their best bet is trading josh smith for some talent and even that is a risk because josh smith is a star who is still young.

OhCanada-ParticipantI would not just "let Smith go". You can get quite a bit for Smith, I bet for starters Utah would give New Jersey’s 1st rounder, Utahs 2012 1st rounder and someone on their roster like Fesenko, Miles, etc. and maybe even Tomic for Josh Smith. Dont just make him walk.
