ItsVictorOladipoParticipantEverybody is talking about the Cavs and how they were exposed against the Celtics. Whether Lebron will be leaving or not, how they will shake things up in order to improve etc.
But the Hawks are almost in the same situation. After a good regular season they were just wrecked in the second round which proves that if they want to progress in the playoffs they’re gonna have to make some major upgrades. A tall task considering the salaries they have locked up long term and the fact that their star swingman is an impending free agent.
So where do you all think they go from here? What should they do in the off season and how to they prepare for the future?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantThe Hawks had the best starting 5 in the league last year..But as it showed against the Magic..Horford is too undersized to guard guys like Dwight Howard..Williams have been in the league for 5 years now..And still has that deer in the headlights look..Josh is blossoming into an Allstar..His post game is slowly improving..Joe Johnson is more of a number 2 option..And Bibby’s age is starting to show..Teague looks to ready to start next season..They might get a sleeper in the 1st round..Maybe Aldrich slides in the draft..Paul George,Babbitt or Sanders might be on the board..Or they draft Solomon Alabi or Orton who are projects..But might be worth the gamble in the long haul..

JNixonParticipantI think they should look to trade Josh Smith (depending on who their new coach is and how he fits into their system) for a true Center. Possibly Chris Kaman? Getting a true Center with talent would allow Horford to play his natural PF spot.
We’ll learn alot about Jeff Teague, and whether he can develop into a true PG and floor general. This is a big off-season for him. Mike Bibby needs to be a backup now. He’s somewhat a liability on both ends, and is only playing because he gets the Hawks into their offense better than Teague ever could.
I think Joe is gone now. They need to sign and trade for him though. They can’t afford to let him leave with nothing to show.
The new coach needs to integrate Marvin Williams into the offensive gameplan. He is a talent offensively, and Coach Woodson never truly figured out how to effectively use him. He’s quick and strong enough to slash and finish (he was at his best when he attacked the rim and drew fouls), a very good shooter from the 3-point line to the 12-feet area, and he can even post a little. He also can guard the Paul Pierce’s and Lebron’s better than any other Hawk.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantlol, i don’t actually think this will happen but it would kinda make sense for both teams especially if Atl does a sign and trade with Johnson.
Atlanta sends Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson to the LA Clippers for Baron Davis and Chris Kaman.
