WOW! He’s an exciting player to watch, hopefully he grows a bit and puts on some weight though if he ran into Dwight Howard he could actually die.

He’s from Baltimore, and he will come to Maryland. Him and Chris Thomas are going to revive the Terps.

Here is another post I made about him a while back, with a vid of him just torching people.

    http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/aquille-carr

Love the dunk at the end of that vid, and when he pins the guy on the backboard. When I heard about him, I could not believe what he accomplished as a freshman. Seems like a legit prospect, crazy athleticism. Has a strange and low release on his J, but his speed at this point really helps him get space. Still, super fun to watch. Does anyone remember Andrew Lavender? He was a McDonald’s All-American, 5’7 and 155. I do not even think he was as explosive and athletic as Aquille Carr though, but he was a great smaller PG. He played for Oklahoma and transferred to Xavier. I think he plays pro in Germany now. Well, Aquille Carr in a couple years might be the next 5’7 or so PG to play in the McDonald’s All-American game. Let’s hope he keeps it up, because he is a lot of fun to watch.

    I wonder…

    1.  Will he grow to atleast 6’3"

    2.  Can he shoot?

    3.  Is his passing ability any good?

    4.  He seems out of control at times, how many turnovers does he average?

Obviously I would know as well as the DMV people, but I would think that there is still some hope for him to grow at least a decent amount more. I am 6’2 now and at this point in my sophomore year in high school I was no more than 5’9, plus the kid doesn’t look all that physically developed.

I have no idea whether he will grow, but my guess is not much. Most upper echelon basketball players usually develop faster physically than others, and I believe Aquille might be in this category. The guy is built for his size and with his fluidity, you figure their is not much more physical development to be done. Albeit, you and I probably grew differently than a lot of these guys, but people who tend to grow a lot during HS kind of come out of the woodwork, a la Anthony Davis. My guess is this guy will at least be under 6 feet if he does indeed grow, though I do not know his genes. He does look pretty physically developed though, no other explanation for having that kind of athleticism.

Tongue-out, you ask valid questions, but look at my previous post to have many of them answered. He seems to be a very strong shooter and he averaged about 8 assists a game as a freshman. I notice you ask questions sometimes more than you do actual research with what might be right in front of you. As for the turnovers, I have no clue, but I know he was National Freshman of the Year last year with averages of about 25-8-5 steals. I am also pretty sure he is doing really well this year and that his team does not lose very often. He plays with a solid 2 guard named Nick Faust, who is committed to Maryland. Still, I think Carr is the teams star player. The easy comparison to make is Nate Robinson, who few people remember was Washington’s star player and leading scorer even with Brandon Roy running with him. My point is, this guy looks like a real ball player, even with his lack of size. I know in one game this year he shot 19-24 from the field, 7-10 from 3 and 12-15 from the line for 57. He drives with reckless abandon, but no player his size will get by strictly by doing that, so I am guessing he has a pretty nice stroke and try’s to see the floor.

The only issue I find with him is that he is 17 years old as a sophomore, which might mean he has already grown to his max height, depending on when his birthday is he might have to go to a prep school(  but he’ll probably end up doing that anyway). Another thing I heard is that he has a lackadaisical attitude towards working on his game and towards schoolwork in general…. I really hope this kid succeeds though because he sure is fun to watch.
