CelticJayhawkParticipantRivals.com reporting that Davis is UK’s to lose. No link cause i dont have the insider for that website, but if it is true..here’s the UK 2011 hypothetical class. Last names with ranking on rivals in parenthesis.
Gilchrist (1)
Q Miller (2)
Teague (5)
A Davis (8)
Wroten (26)
Chandler (52)Gilchrist has put the full court press on trying to get Wroten, and Q Miller has been a Kentucky lean for a while. Mike Chandler from Lawrence North (Odens HS) has been a Kentucky lean since de committing from L Ville earlier this year.
If this class takes form, and Davis’s rise to number 1 or 2 in the rankings looming, would this be the best class of all time?

WizardofOzParticipantNo wonder why Calipari doesn’t mind his players going to the NBA. He reloads every year.

weballin.netParticipantYou can’t play Gilchrist, Miller and Davis at the same time. Miller or Gilchrist would have to play PF while both are pure forwards and that also means that you lack some players inside

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantAgreed with weballin.net, all those players you mentioned have tons of talent but in that situation it is not where you can play the players at all these positions at the same time, Miller and Davis are inside-out PFs who can transition to SF in the NBA if their skillset is more suited for that position but in college and on Kentucky they would be playing PF and with Gilchrist at SF it would not really pan out, I could see Miller going to Kentucky, he talks about them a lot and with John Wall being so successful and being a former AAU teammates with Miller that can also help, I doubt Chandler would want to play there with all these super talented players, will probably choose another school to attend where he has more of a chance to shine, same with Wroten but could be wrong I mean he does play PG and so does Teague and it is obvious Teague would start, sure Wroten could start at SG much like Bledsoe did last season with Wall but I doubt he would want to do that, just my opinion.

delfamParticipantno way all these guys sign with UK, just not enough playing time, and I see Doron Lamb staying for another year so that takes up another spot.

WrecklessParticipantIf Anthony Davis commits then im pretty confident that Miller goes to Louisville to join Wayne Blackshear. And Wroten said on his twitter that UK is in the lead Followed By UW so this may be the best class ever imo.
Teague
Wroten
Gilchrist
Davis

Rock_Cat78ParticipantSome think Davis will be the new #1 when rankings are next updated. Miller will not be at UK. Wroten is very doubtful as well. He wants UK a lot more than Cal wants him.

JNixonParticipantWroten would be very wise to go to a college where he can have the ball in his hands alot. Him and Teague together would damage one of their stocks for the draft, and the most likely guy to suffer the most damage is Wroten. I’d like to see Wroten go to Washington, or even places like UConn, Tennessee, or Syracuse before Kentucky. That wouldn’t be the best for him in terms of possible NBA potential. Unless he plans on being in college for more than 1 year.

McDunkinI bet lorenzo romar hates calipari so much right now

JNixonParticipantEspecially if he gets a guy that literally plays the same exact position as Teague, who’s their top recruit as of now. This would be the 2nd time he stole a recruit from the state in 2 years, yuck.

McDunkinWhen it comes to recruiting it seems like cal completely ignores the players he has on his roster.
d.miller
liggins
harrellson(i swear his game is like a poor mans kevin love)could be pretty good college players if given a proper chance

stanford hoopswhat new coach doesnt ignore the player son his roster?..he never recruited those guys and probably wouldnt have recruited them if he was there when those players were Srs. Its not new for a new coach to come to a team and recruit over the players from the old coachs era
as far as thos eplayers playing together i dont see how it doesnt work. its not the nba, you can play small forwards at center and win games because there arent any dominate centers in college. and most of the centers are really pf. you can play davis at center, miller at pf,gilchrist at sf
as far as the best class ever, it woldnt be untill they showed something on the court. you can might be able to say the most highly ranked class ever ( i think the old school ucla team had higher ranked players and maybe the mich team that came after the fab five mo taylor, tractor, bullock, jerod ward etc

TRC1991ParticipantWhat a surprise, Calipari going after Tony Wroten-someone who UW shouldn’t typically have any problem signing…he does go to to school at Garfield which is 3 miles away from the University

SubZeroParticipantAustin Rivers is considering us as well, but I think there’s a better chance of him going to Florida or Duke

stanford hoopslol..im pretty sure just about every coach is going after tony not just coach cal. most colleges have been recruiting him since soph year
