If you were the GM of the Pelicans would you accept a top 3 pick, Dennis Smith, Kevin Knox, and Mitchell Robinson for Anthony Davis?

I honestly think I would take this package over the Lakers and the Celtics mainly just because of the high pick. I still feel like this is a decent package of young players with potential as well.

    What do you guys think?

     If I’m the Knicks I’m not trading a top 2 pick..I like AD he’s a great player. But I question his durability…

This is a tough one for me I agree on the durability concerns but otherwise AD is the guy you draft with a number one overall pick so I’d take anyone short of Zion with the durability cocerns in a heartbeat for him and if those injuries weren’t there I’d throw Zion in as well

I want him in LA or Milwaukee.

Giannis and AD would be insane.

Absolutely take that if you’re the Pelicans. It’s very unlikely Smith, Knox and Robinson become anywhere near an AD, but they all have very good potential to be at or near All-Stars. Again, maybe 1, 2, or all just flop for whatever reason. But I doubt that will happen and you have to take what you can to secure any form of a future before AD walks. If those young guys come near fulfilling their potential, then that’s a team that will be well above mediocrity, which is where the Pels are right now even with AD, so you probably can’t get much worse long-term trading him away for that group of guys plus a high pick. Again, I wouldn’t do that if I were the Knicks unless another superstar said they were in if AD was there, but who knows! The only way a small market team can do well these days is by cashing in when they can and drafting well. They obviously have a great talent in AD, but he can’t carry a team in the West through (or maybe even to) the playoffs. And now that it’s clear he wants out it’s not like any other star will come knocking during free agency. A lineup with Smith, Holiday, Knox, Randle, and Robinson/Okafor could be tough in a couple years.

Thats way too much for the Knicks to give up. DAJ aside that is basically their best 4 players.

It would leave anthony davis and nearly a g-league team as the face of the NY Knicks….

I have a feeling that we will have new big three from next season: LeBron, AD and Irving or Durant, AD and Irving

I don’t like both franchises, but it would be interesting to see a competitive Knicks team after 20 years

Are the Knicks a dark horse? They are definitely being talked about. They need to add someone else in free agency first I think, and that way they will know who the player drafted is too. Ja Morant or RJ Barrett, Dennis Smith, Kevin Knox, and Mitchell Robinson? That’s a better deal than Lakers in my opinion. Gotta remember they will add their own top 10 pick as well. So start next year with 5 nice pieces deserving  of minutes all on rookie deals? Yes please.

At least to me it still seems like all the buzz is about the Lakers and Celtics as usual but that was kind of my point of this was that I honestly think they have the best potential package out of most teams on top of the ability to fit in two max slots

yeah not really a dark horse team, depends on where their draft pick fall, but they could actually be the favorite to land him.

Yes, no doubt. The Knicks are desparate to win now and the Pels should cash in on that. If AD is there there’s a good chance KD or another star comes. Pels then trade Jrue for more young talent. I think it makes a lot of sense.

If I was the pelicans I only do that deal if the pick is NO1 and I was sure Knox is going to be something amazing/special… As DSJ is does exactly what Jrue does minus the defense and + more hops,Mitchel is raw as hell and at least 2 years away from being 2 years away Knox is ok so far but better than Ingram or Taytum I think not especially if they want to re-tool vs complete rebuild…The number 1 pick is where is the main draw card but in all honest you would have to a have a guy where you are like wow he in generational/ at least a franchise level player and I don’t personally believe IMO that their is that in this draft-I see Zion being either injury prone due to weight/conditioning or not being able to out jump/physically bully people like he does at the next level..
