alex len reminds me some of marc gasol. he is a legit size center with a good wingspan, I think his post moves are more refined then he is given credit for on this site. right now I think he is a little inconsistent, but I think he will get better with that when he gets to the nba. I was really impessed with him in the game against Kentucky early in the year. I felt he handled the combo of noel and cauley-stein well. those are two guys who are not easy to score against, and Kentucky threw both of them at him. he also defended them well I thought. I think he is also a pretty good passer out of the post. I think he could be a very good center in the nba in a few years, with a lack of a lot of skilled offensive 7-0 footers in the nba. thoughts everyone?

      Worst Case: Koufos
      Best Case: Bogut

The thing that makes Gasol an absolute star center in this league is his amazing basketball IQ and court vision for a big man. He always makes the right play. He’s the best passing big man in the NBA along with his older brother.

Alex Len doesn’t have half the basketball IQ that Gasol possesses.

In college, Aldrich was a tough nosed defender whose best qualities were rebounding, shot blocking and a massive wingspan despite a pretty in impressive height for a pro center. Len plays little like Cole, he’s well over 7 foot, has a very good post game and is only above average to good on the glass and blocking shots.

Len projects as a much better offensive player than Aldrich ever did.

Roy Hibbert: very long, mobile but not overly athletic, great hook and turnaround plus the ability to hit a face up jumper and despite his size, just an average rebounder.

Alex Len will also be 3 and a half years younger than marc gasol was when he entered the NBA. So it is hard to tell how good he will be. So much can change in those 4 years. Which is why the draft is such a hard thing to predict because if you have 2 players but one is 2 years older you have to try to predict where the younger guy will be in 2 years and base your decision off that.

I like the Hibbert comparison. I think he is a mixture of Roy Hibbert and Marcin Gortat
