…my surprise top 3 pick is giving Mizzou the business right now(20 in the 1st half), every game he is looking more and more like a NBA ready 2-gaurd…

He has grown a little more on me too. He reminds me of Josh Childress. He’s at his best in transition and he’s long and wiry with solid length and athleticism, but he’s not a very good shooter and he doesn’t play very good on-ball defense. Still he’s shown good ball-handling skills and a solid mid-range game. I think he can go anywhere from late lotto to in the mid-20’s.

He reminds me of Kerry Kittles due to his athleticism and wiry frame. Although I’m surprise of Burks’ 3PT % this season, I know he’s a better shooter than his percentage idicates.

Not really, his % is accurate. He’s a work in progress shooting the ball. Think Evan Turner.

He shot 35% in 3PT line as a freshman, so I was assuming he would atleast match or better that percentage.

He shot that on a limited number of attempts, and that’s a very mediocre percentage as it is. The way he’s shooting this year is accurate IMO. He’s not a very good shooter by any stretch. It’s the biggest weakness in his game by far.

Hhmm interesting. This site had him compared to Eddie Jones who was a threat at the 3PT line. So I’m getting mixed scouting reports on him.

I’m not really sold on Burks, as he isn’t the best shooter, is overrated as a playmaker, and doesn’t have the most broad shoulders, which is a early warning that he may not ever be able to add the significant weight. That could be a problem defensively at the next level as teams may be inclined to bully him around and put him in the post the way they would against Eddie Jones in the playoffs. I still am a fan, but with bad testing and underachievment could drop him to mid 20’s but good testing and a good end to the season could have in the top 5 by the draft as a lot of players like Irving and barnes may choose to come back in 2012.

I’m not surprised Burks lit it up today, he is very good in transition and Colorado smartly recognized their strengths as a team and dared Mizzou to run. He got his shot going running the break and getting to the line ( his best attribute IMO ) but he really struggles in half court situations due to his sub par shooting. I tend to agree with Iggy as far as his draft status goes and compare him to Kenny Gregory but who can actually hit his free throws.
