slepchorParticipantHey guys unfortunately I did not have the chance to watch the first day of the combine in Chicago, but from what I’ve been hearing the two big men that are really standing out in day 1 are Steven Adams and Rudy Gobert.. Are the official measurements out already? Anyone can help with that? Also, it is said that a lot of other big men like Cody Zeller will not participate in the drills scheduled for tomorrow, is that true? Who do you see raising his stock so far?

machu46ParticipantThey didn’t do athleticism tests today if I recall correctly. It was just skill drills (guards doing ball handling, bigs doing post moves/rebounding, etc.). Tomorrow is when they’ll do the measurements, vertical leap, and stuff like that. That’s where we’ll start to really hear about risers and fallers in draft stock.

SiggyParticipantMeasurement portion of the combine is tomorrow.
It was reported that Gobert was 7’1.5 without shoes though.

Chilbert arenasParticipantWhoa! Gobert 7’1.5 wout shoes is HUGE! Remember Dwight was 6’9 wout shoes.

slepchorParticipantI am really high on Gobert, and I think he can do well in the league, but just because the game is demanding shorter centers nowadays, it doesn’t mean we should get excited for someone who stands 7’2.. Remember Alexis Ajinca? Totally different players and games, I know, but you get the point.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI knew this was gonna happen, I been high on Adams all year and even went as far as to compare his situation at Pitt with Drummonds last year at UConn. When watching Pitt you could clearly see times when they could easily of fed Adams or made more of an effort to find him but they didn’t. Adams isn’t as raw as his numbers suggests.
But Adams is one of the guys I want to be available for the Sixers when they draft at 11 but I knew after the combine his stock was gonna sky rocket once FO types saw how pro ready his build and game are.
Gobert is another guy I got my eye on and reminds me of Samuel Dalembert at worse.
