valentineA team will reach for Aaron Gordon. I can’t say who, but he goes in the top 8-10 range, maybe higher.
I consider him closest to Shawn Marion, who would be a top 8 pick in any draft. I never see him rated that highly in any mocks, but come draft day it only takes 1 GM to be high on him.
Disagree? Tell me who a GM will reach for in the top 8.

King CaluchaParticipantI think Josh Smith is a better defender than Gordon will ever be. Neither is a good shooter but the difference is that Aaron knows it and doesn’t jack up shot after shot. Also, both are good passers for their position. This looks like a decent comparison.

BiggysmallsParticipantI’ve always thought Gordon looked like Gerald Wallace, but I do like that Josh Smith one a lot now that I think about it. Gordon is probably smarter already and I disagree with whoever said he won’t be that kind of defender. I could see Gordon being a very good defender and a guy capable of guarding 2s 3s and 4s.

KHAM83ParticipantIf he’s to be a pf, I can see the Kings picking him up. He brings energy, defense, and hustle, which will be a blessing when pairing him with Cousins. Plus, he’s not a guy who needs to score. He could be a poor man’s Kenneth Faired type player for the Kings.
Also, a lot of mocks has them going for Smart, but Thomas and McCollum are doing well enough while their pfs are weaknesses.

King CaluchaParticipantFaried is a terrible defender, while Gordon has shown flashes of what seems pretty good defense. Gordon and Faried only share the rebounding and the athleticism in their skillset.

livinlegend4blkParticipantI think if he declare for the Draft he will play for a playoff team and get minutes but I would like to see him stay one more year he needs to work on his FT% Blake Griffin stayed to his sophomore year not comparing them and sat a year so he really was a senior playing in the NBA imagine if Gordon did that without the injury he will be highly skilled

Ghost01ParticipantI think a team will reach for him…but more like in the 4-5 range.
I’m still not sure he’s anything more than a super athletic hustle player. His offensive game is miles away from dominating the NBA.

iguapops420ParticipantI’ve been trying lately to come up with the comparison for Gordon, as I’ve heard everything from Griffin to Faried. I tried watching thoroughly through a few older games and the way he plays reminds me most of a young Kenyon Martin with better defensive discipline. He doesn’t have much of an offensive game but has some developing skills such as ball handling and passing. He is a terrific finisher and can at times get the rebound and go coast to coast in a way I saw from Kenyon at a young age. He’s an explosive player who even seems to hae a quirky jumper that he refuses to not shoot just as Kenyon would. Aaron’s frame even seems to be similar in way that he may never be more than 235-240 but will be a very well built/strong athlete.
