    Flopping

Embiid and Smart just had a little pitty alterction and it just dawned on me that both guys flopped. Then they both got up for the "hold mee backk" fight. LOL. If anyone ever flopped when I threw out an elbow or shoved them, they are done. Im gonna talk so much shit while doing it too. If I’m playing league or YMCA any kinda organized ball they are sitting down or leaving very quick because I’m gonna torch them from there on out.

I would never flop and ‘pretend to be weaker than I am’ but i got that little man complex. When did this become acceptable? Watching Boston vs. Philly right now and the flopping has been ridiculous. Phrases like "he really did a good job selling the call" are just not right. Players should not be appraised for this garbage.

Remember when Bosh did that ‘elbow to the face’ flop and everyone got at him and called him soft for years. That flop is still on highlight packages. Well it happens 10 times in every NBA game now.

Anyways who gets the highest Flopping rating in 2k20 because its become such a big part of the game why wouldnt they add it as a mechanic.

    Marcus Smart?
    James Harden?
    Dwayne Wade?

Officiating is hard enough without these professional embelishers.

I don’t think Embiid flopped. Smart pushed him hard from behind. That could knock anyone over. Smart might not have flopped either because he didn’t really expect to make contact with Embiid than he moved that elbow out a smidge.

Maybe they both did or maybe neither did? Who knows….I do know one thing…this only helps make the case for getting rid of real flopping.

for the flopping/whining/acting. "Soccer players are soft and weak!" they all say. I’ve dealt with this being a soccer player/fan my whole life Well now it has a foothold in basketball at the highest level and will continue to trickle down to younger players who admire NBA players.

It hasn’t gone away in soccer for over 70 years now and it won’t leave the NBA anytime soon as well. There is an institutional reward build into the rules for players that flop. There is a huge incentive to get players to act hurt with the way the rules are set up currently. Until they start doing post game reviews and fining/suspending these players, it will continue.

It is just too hard for the officials to notice it during the course of play. Refs are going to get fooled many times a night. The NBA needs to use the media age to review all questionable plays in games and put out consequences when appropriate.

Theyve made flopping a tactic. Players stay on the ground as a way to take a timeout for conditioning purposes because there are only 3 substitutions. Its generally accepted but still annoying.

and wrong. But soccer is big business in every country except America. No pressure to change rules (even if they would benefit the game) when the cash cow keeps giving milk.

And there have been times where a player runs -preplanning to fall- at a star player who has 4 fouls and tries to "take a charge" to get him out of the game. So to a lesser degree it is beging used as a tactic in bball too.
