This makes me sad, and it basically guarantees a lockout. 🙁0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/13/2011 - 10:12am #520930
DC ChillinParticipantNobody is more sad than Anthony Randolph 🙁

sportsjunkyParticipantAnthony Randolph and Jerryd Bayless are holding a candlelight service for the death of the 2011 summer league.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI guess that the Las Vegas summer league will wait until next year to retire Jerryd Bayless’ number. lol
The second range is gonna be strange with teams not really wanting to spend any money on guys. Lots of international players could go. I would also think that they look for college seniors who are flying a little bit under the radar but who can come into next season ready to go. Not a great time for second round projects.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWord had it that Derrick Williams had plan to make an announcement on thursday..But now hearing that they’ve Cancelled Summer League..Will that mean a lockout is possible? will he also return to school?
With no summer league now means those guys that were hoping to impress a team there will have to really be impressive in individual workouts to get drafted in the 2nd round…

RUDEBOY_ParticipantCBSSPORTS.COM is now reporting that summer league hasnt been cancelled ,but becuz of the ongoing labor dispute there will not be any current nba players or drafted rookies at the event…
They’re looking at several options to take place there, including bringing over International teams or having D-League players there..The D-League will continue on, even if there is a nba work stoppage…Becuz its players are not NBPA members…

AKOOParticipantNeeds to go. The NBA is not beloved like the NFL or MLB and this will hurt them really bad.
