GSWMasterMindParticipantDoes anybody else see the 76ers using the #2 pick to dump Elton Brands salary and trade down? Or do you think Doug Collins will revive his career?

juves4783Participanti could see detroit making that move since they have tayshaun’s expiring contract. brand is still servicable, but definitely not worth what he is making. i would imagine minnesota would desperately want to make that deal to take turner, but i’m not sure if they have enough big (bad) contracts to put something together.

McWinningParticipantBrand is just a bad fit for the princeton offense, if he got traded his numbers would gop way up. If icould get Brand, and the second pick for the mediocre player id take it in a second. That would be a huge steal.

McWinningParticipantChicago would be a great fit. With Hinrichs and Dengs contracts, plus they have lots of cap room so they can take on Brands contract, who would help their low post scoring.

McWinningParticipantMaybe Brand, and 2nd pick
for the 17th pick and Hinrich?
not sure if its fair for Philly.

GSWMasterMindParticipantThe Warriors are at least Maggs contract away from being relevant. Teams that are rebuilding need to take on bad contracts and draft picks to truly rebuild for the future. Not every team can be the Thunder and make a quick fix. If the Warriors were to make a move to bring in Brand’s 3 year contract and the #2 pick for the #6 and a mix of Brandon Wright, Vlad Rad (exp), they would look back in 3 years when Maggs and Brand are off the books and have some pretty nice pieces and cap to show for it.

morgatilParticipantYes, the Pistons should do this in a heartbeat and also get Cousins. Wow….. that would make them some what relevant once again. Get Brand out of that UnBrand offense and see what he has in the tank.
Sad thing is, Brand at this point is still an Upgrade over Kwame Brown and the rest of the Pistons bigs.

BlueLacesParticipantI don’t see the Sixers trading the number 2 pick for Prince and the number 7. If the Sixers move to number 7, Cousins and Monroe would probably both be off the board and they wouldn’t be left with much to show. I still think there best bet at moving down is with the Wolves, which as a Wolves fan is awesome because then we could take Turner.

festar35ParticipantWhat about the Pacers offer the 10th pick and Murphy or Dunleavy’s expiring contract for 2nd and Brand? The Pacers also have two 2nd rounders and I think only Hibbert and Granger would be safe on their roster.

the I in winParticipantactually i think the idea of bringing in brand and the #2 to chicago would be good. If they Hinrich did and the 17 for brand and the 2 and took evan turner i think lebron would definitly go there. He would have a chance to play with derrick rose (who will make shots for him) and evan turner (who can also make plays for him) making his scoring a bunch easier.

I’d REALLY like that a lot. We’d be able to draft Turner. I also think Brand has something left. He’d be a better fit for us than he is with the 76ers.
I doubt the 76ers will trade down that low though.

festar35ParticipantPersonally I’m not sure that the idea would even cross Larry Bird’s mind. Larry always seems to do the same thing year in and year out and this might be to big of a risk for him. He will yet again draft a junior or senior college prospect playing it safe.
In order for that trade to get done the Pacers would need to offer up the likes of Rush, Hansbrough or McRoberts.

IndianaBasketballParticipantLarry Bird is too conservative. He does business exactly how he looks… Plain and boring. Indianapolis has zero excitement towards the Pacers.
It’s depressing being a Pacers fan. We won pointless games at the end of the season and lost out on getting a top four pick. I expect another boring summer and another boring season. The only reason I renewed my season tickets package is because I feel an internal duty to do my part in keeping the team in Indianapolis.
