1st round draft grades(Cousinsfan11)

Here are my draft grades for each pick of the first round:

1 Washington John Wall 6-4 196 PG Kentucky Fr.

Grade A+: They couldn't have gone with anybody else.

2 Philadelphia Evan Turner 6-7 214 SG Ohio State Jr.

Grade A: They get a good player here at #2.

3 New Jersey Derrick Favors 6-10 245 PF Georgia Tech Fr.

Grade A+: They get the the best power forward in the draft.

4 Minnesota Wesley Johnson 6-7 206 SF Syracuse Jr.

Grade A: They fill their need of a small forward with a great player.

5 Sacramento DeMarcus Cousins 6-11 292 PF/C Kentucky Fr.

Grade A+: The Kings get the best center in the draft at #5.

6 Golden St. Ekpe Udoh 6-10 237 PF Baylor Jr.

Grade C-: This pick was a little weird, but if the Warriors play Udoh at the 4 and Randolph at the 3 they won't be too bad, but a reach for Udoh at #6.

7 Detroit Greg Monroe 6-11 247 PF/C Georgetown So.
Grade A: Monroe fell to them and they took him good pick.

8 LA Clippers Al-Farouq Aminu 6-8 216 SF Wake Forest So.

Grade A: They needed a small forward and Aminu fits their need.

9 Utah Gordon Hayward 6-8 211 SF Butler So.

Grade A: They get a player that fits into their system very well and Hayward will be a good player for them in the future a tiny bit of a reach, but it is a very good pick.

10 Indiana Paul George 6-9 214 SF Fresno St. So.

Grade B: I was surprised by this pick, if George can play the 2 they will be okay, but at this point he seems like a 3 and that is the position Danny Granger plays.

11 New Orleans Cole Aldrich 6-10 236 C Kansas Jr.

Grade B: They traded him to OKC good for them, but not for themselves.

12 Memphis Xavier Henry 6-6 210 SG Kansas Fr.

Grade B+: If Mayo can play point guard and with Henry at shooting guard that would be a scary tandem.

13 Toronto Ed Davis 6-10 227 PF North Carolina So.

Grade B: Bosh is leaving and they get a player to replace him solid pick here.

14 Houston Patrick Patterson 6-9 240 PF Kentucky Jr.

Grade A: Patterson fell to them and they get a power forward to replace Landry.

15 Milwaukee Larry Sanders 6-10 222 PF/C VCU Jr.

Grade C: They reached for Sanders at #15, but he could be a productive player for the Bucks.

16 Minnesota Luke Babbitt 6-9 218 SF/PF Nevada So.

Grade D+: Babbitt is a good player, but why did Minnesota draft another small forward and worse trade him for Martell Webster.

17 Washington Kevin Seraphin 6-9 263 PF/C France Intl.

Grade C: This is a little high for Seraphin.

18 Oklahoma Cty Eric Bledsoe 6-1 192 PG/SG Kentucky Fr.

Grade B: Good value at #18 the Clippers pick will most likely be higher than #18, but we will see.

19 Boston Avery Bradley 6-3 180 SG Texas Fr.

Grade B+: Bradley fell to them and they get a back-up for Rondo and a replacement for Allen if he leaves.

20 San Antonio James Anderson 6-6 208 SG Oklahoma State Jr.

Grade A: Anderson is a good fit in San Antonio and good value at #20.

21 Oklahoma Cty Craig Brackins 6-10 229 PF Iowa St. Jr.

Grade C+: He got trade to New Orleans, but this was a little high for Brackins.

22 Portland Elliot Williams 6-4 180 SG Memphis So.

Grade B: A good back-up for Roy.

23 Minnesota Trevor Booker 6-7 236 PF Clemson Sr.

Grade C+: A reach for Booker here at #23 which made no sense, but he got traded.

24 Atlanta Damion James 6-7 227 SF Texas Sr.

Grade B+: Got traded for Jordan Crawford which was good for them, and good value at #24.

25 Memphis Dominique Jones 6-4 216 SG South Florida Jr.

Grade B-: Pick made little sense after the Henry pick, but Dallas got him and at #25 he is a good player.

26 Oklahoma Cty Quincy Pondexter 6-7 215 SF Washington Sr.

Grade A: Good player at #26 he was trade with Brackins to New Orleans for Cole Aldrich.

27 New Jersey Jordan Crawford 6-4 198 SG Xavier So.

Grade B+: Was traded for Damion James which wasn't bad for the Nets good pick at #27

28 Memphis Greivis Vasquez 6-6 211 PG/SG Maryland Sr.

Grade B: He will fit in nicely with the Grizzlies, but the question is playing time with Mayo, Henry, and possibly Gay/Brewer.

29 Orlando Daniel Orton 6-10 269 PF/C Kentucky Fr.

Grade A: Great value at #29 here was projected to go in the lottery by some, but he fell to the Magic and he can learn from the best center in the league.

30 Washington Lazar Hayward 6-6 226 SF Marquette Sr

Grade D: A reach at #30 and he was trade to the Timberwolves another small forward for them what a shocker.

Some of you will agree with my grades and some of you will disagree.
