baggin13ParticipantI am not going out on a stretch, but if Adreian Payne is available, the Wolves have to take him.
Currently on the Roster the Wolves only have one true PF, Kevin Love, which as everyone knows might not even be true much longer.Regardless if Love is traded or not the Wolves need to add a PF and add more Athleticism to the front court, not to mention some insurance in case they decide to keep Love and he leaves.
In the scenario where Love gets traded, Payne can be the PF of the future. I don’t see why Payne couldn’t grow into something similar to a, Taj Gibson or a, Serge Ibaka. He has the size at 6’10”, a impressive wingspan of 7’4″, has a nice consistent shot with 3 pt. range, can play with his back to the basket, finishes around the rim and would be a great alley-oop target for Rubio. HIs motor and work ethic have been on display during his 4 years at MSU. Each year Payne has expanded and improved his game, and he is a guy you can expect to dive on the floor for loose balls and not take plays off.
Sure his defense needs some work and he could be a better rebounder, but he isn’t a horrible at either. Not to mention he would fit next to Pek very nicely. Pek needs an athletic 4 next to him that can space the floor and be a shot blocking/altering threat.

BallinmvpParticipantI like it, Payne is going to be a good player. Payne would infuse the wolves with some more front court talent. Love is as good as gone, might as well have a good PF prospect to replace him

juves4783Participantisn’t there draft going to be contigent on what trade they go with? in all cases (nuggs, celts and warriors), power forwards are coming back as part of the deal. and in all 3 cases, it sounds like k-mart is being moved. i would use #13 on adding some wing depth.

Forte IVParticipantYeah I’ve had Payne to the Wolves at 13 on my mock for a while. Seems like a great fit honestly.

providencefriars1ParticipantIf Stauskas is there they definitely take him. I also like Payne here as well as Zach LaVine and Dario Saric. Hood and Young will probably be their last resorts.

mopoParticipantI think at 13 you take a shooting wing. If they can get Hood/Stauskas/Dougie, they are good.
