    Hi its Ben

So I was thinking about this tonight, would the best D-League team go 0-82 if the franchise was brought up into the NBA? I would think so, as the best player on the D-League team often rides the bench of an NBA team. Can you guys give me your thoughts? Thanks.

I think they would HAVE to get lucky and get a single win somewhere.

The Texas Legends seem like the best team and they have pretty good players like Dominique Jones, Sean Williams, Joe Alexander, Antonio Daniels, and Rashad McCants.

No, I say they would win a handful…..It only takes a few players to get extremely hot for an outmatched team to win in bball.

I took at look at the D-League standings and scoped a few of the better teams.  I say this team (Texas Legends) could possibly win 10 games.  Dominique Jones, Justin Dentmon, Antonio Daniels, Joe Alexander, Sean Williams, Rashad McCants, Dar Tucker, and few role players I haven’t heard of.  That team would win a few games.

i think they go 0-82. The talent gap is HUGE. Plus every single team in the nba would get up for that game becasue nobody would want to be the team that lost to a d league squad.

would be to take the top 12 players in the D-League, make them into a team then say how they would do against NBA compitition

If you want to take the top players in the Dleague in the team, you might as well make an expansion franchise lol

I think there are enough players in the NBA who basically take nights off even though they’re on the floor that a team of D-Leaguers who play hard can surprise someone.

They’d be the worst team in the NBA, but I think they’d be able to get a few wins. It’s hard to imagine a team going 0-82.

I think the key thing would be their bigs.  I think that is where they match up issues would arise for guys already in the NBA.  Hickson would murder some of the D league bigs and he is not even close to being the best big man in the league.  I think guard play wise some of the D league players could have big nights but it comes down to can they defend and NBA team and how the bigs match up. I think an All star D league team could get some wins but I think all D league teams would go 0 82 if they played in the NBA.  NJ has 2 all star caliber players and they almost won just 10 games.  They did not plays as bad as people say but they just were outplayed a lot of times in the 4th.  Most D league teams someone like Amare could go for 50 to 60 on them because there would be no big man to stop him.  Look how many wins the Clippers have right now and they actually have a good team but they are young, dealing with injuries and still have not found that chemisty yet but against inferior talent they destroy that team.

Let me put this in perspective for you all. My T-wolves would destroy all of the D-League. Pretty sure even though the Wolves are awful they would go like 80-2 in the D-league lol. And those 2 loses would suck for the wolves lol. If you made a team of the best players in the D-league they still would only win maybe 4 games. And they would be vs teams like the cavs and wolves and kings. So yes i do think if you took any team from the D-league they would more then likey go 0-82. As hard as that is to believe.

I think they’d win a few.  Also, you have to figure the players would be extremely motivated to prove they belonged in the league.  I’d go with something like 6-76.  Maybe I’m an optimist.

They would need to hit a lot of threes and play D out of their mind to win a game.

The Nets only won 12 games with their roster last yearand in 2007-08 Miami only won 15 games side that included D-Wade and Shaq or Marion for several of them so a D-League team would really struggle but I’d figure they would surely win a few games maybe 5-77 unless they appointed Isiaah Thomas to the front office then they could really go 0-82.

this is a really good question. the best d league team may go winless. but the 12 best d league players would win atleast 6 games, imo. but most would probably be rookies like dominique jones, luke babbitt, etc.

In basketball it is true anyone can get hot but when the talent level is that big of jump, it changes things.  That is like saying a Minor league baseball team could would win more than 3 or 4 games in the big leagues or that the best teams in College would win any games in the NFL.

What about if you put a top NCAA team lets say Duke or Kentucky up against some NBA teams over a few games or a D-League team against a top NCAA Team?

I think they would get a couple wins. mostly at the end of the season where most playoffs teams rest thier starters. There is some talent in the d-league not allstar players but role players.

they might win a couple, but it really might ride on having a budding star thats been off the radar or having guys like antonio daniels and rashad mccants having an occasional hot night and leading the team to a victory, hard to tell though.
