mike_r232ParticipantDoug with a 36.5 max vert! That’s way higher than I thought it would be. Half an inch higher than Rodney Hood’s 36 inch vert. Who moves more in the draft rankings? Doug up? Or Hood down? Or neither?

vulture711ParticipantWould you move a guy up or down because he can jump 2 inches higher than you thought ? Come on
I like Doug but not sure why he wouldn’t participate in shooting drills ?? and decided to get measured barefoot. Shouldn’t he be showing off what he does well ? Anyone ? Bueller ?

mike_r232ParticipantI just bring it up because they are two prospects that play the same position and have the same elite skill (shooting), but Doug was considered to be less athletic than Hood. Not saying Doug will now be top 5 and Hood falls to the end of the 1st. Athleticism was a perceived deficiency of Doug’s. This helps alleviate that stigma. I agree though, how is he not joining the shooting drills?! Maybe he doesn’t think he can do better than his in season percentages show.

hbomb3300ParticipantThat is pretty shocking… I’d have to see it to believe it. In games he looked like he had a 20 inch vertical.

Prime TimeParticipantIt looks like he may be athletic enough to play the 3. He tested better than some of these guys who were perceived as more athletic than he is.

Memphis MadnessParticipantDoug helped himself. Rodney Hood is in that 15-25 range. Not a great vertical, and his wingspan is short, too.
I like Cleanthony Early. A solid 6’6 barefoot with a 6’10 plus wingspan. Great 3/4 court sprint time with a 34 inch standing vertical and a 40 inch max. vertical.
Jarnell Stokes helped himself too. 36 inch max vertical with comparable size/length of Julius Randle. Solid shooter too. He also had a great tourney which should help him. A second round steal if he doesn’t move up into the first round.

TarHeelRavenParticipantI would look at Dougie’s lane agility drill as a better indication of his athleticism.

TyroberParticipantHe doesn’t have a reason to do shooting drills. Anybody that watched him at all in college knows he can shoot and put the ball in the hoop. Only bad things could have happened by doing the drills. If he would have done great everyone would say well that’s no surprise, but if his shot would have been off it could have hurt him.

vulture711ParticipantAnd I know it – I’m putting the ball up showing off and letting everyone know I’m better than anyone else here at that – Like Larry Bird in the 3 point contest
Doug is a 3, not a stretch 4. He’ll have a good career – he knows how to ball

Memphis MadnessParticipantDoug is somewhere in that 10-15 range. Could move up to 8 or 9, but I don’t think he falls out of the top 15 or so.
That’s a really good vertical for him.
Good size, too with no red flags.
Orlando, Boston, Phoenix, and Chicago all have two first round picks. I could see McDermott going somewhere like that.

aramboneParticipantLittle noted is that McDermott’s wingspan measured out longer than expected. He rates a full +3" on the Ape Index.

aramboneParticipantAnd why aren’t you guys talking about his excellent agility time of 11.10?

Magic JordanParticipantDoes anybody else think it’s crazy that McBuckets posted a higher combine vertical than Blake Griffin? This just seems absolutely bizzare to me!
