Killian TillieKillian TillieIn one of the crazier weeks of the season, 12 of the 16 teams in last week's rankings suffered a loss. Duke lost to NC State at home for the first time in 20+ years, Kentucky lost two straight for the first time in I don't know when and a plethora of other teams (Kansas, Butler, Creighton, Florida State, Notre Dame, North Carolina) couldn't handle their business.

Flyin’ to the Hoop once again featured top teams from across the nation and some of the top talent in Ohio. This was the 15th year of the event and Trent Arena was packed with fans to show support to one of the best high school events the nation has to offer.

We are two short weeks away from basketball taking center stage in the sports world. Once the Falcons and Patriots square off in Super Bowl LI less than two weeks from now there will be no more football until August which plays out perfectly with the stretch run of the college basketball season and preparation for the NCAA Tournament in March.

Our top team will have their toughest stretch of games this season start this week in what will be a week full of notable games and matchups between teams featured in our rankings.

As conference play tends to do, the men are being separated from the boys and we are starting to sort out which teams can really contend for a National Championship and which teams just aren't quite there.

Injuries have played a large role for many contending teams this season and that was on full display this week as Duke falls out of our rankings for the first time this season, due in large part to Amile Jefferson's injury and with teams like Louisville and Creighton dealing with injuries to key players as well.

The fourth annual Mustang Madness tipped off in Paducah, KY. With a mix of top players from the ’17, ’18, and ’19 classes, some of whom will be college stars sooner than later. The event provided many quality names to keep up with moving forward.

Top NCAA Sophomores

With just 4 NCAA sophomores drafted in the 2016 1st round, and 10 overall draftees, it still ended up doubling the output of last year’s junior class. The sophomore class is usually highlighted by some players who had a legitimate chance to be one-and-done but for various reasons decided to come back, work on their games, and enhance their draft stock. This year there are a number of prospects at the top who did just that and should be in line to be more ready to contribute than they otherwise would have. Here are the top 15 sophomores for this year's NBA draft.

College Football fans get their last hurrah tonight with Clemson and Alabama squaring off in Tampa. And on Tuesday morning, once analysts have dissected that game ad nauseam, it will be time for basketball to take over in college athletics. And there couldn't be a better week of games to help set the tone for the rest of the way.

Florida State vs. Duke, Creighton vs. Butler, Xavier vs. Villanova, Baylor vs. West Virginia to name a few highlight a week in which basketball will take center stage again, at least in terms of college sports.

Michael Fusek Interview

Michael Fusek is a 7-foot-5, 21 year old center from Slovak Republic who shined in front of NBA scouts at the 2016 adidas Eurocamp, earning the top bigman award. Playing for Spirou Charleroi in Belgium, he shows surprising mobility and intensity for a player his size. With developing skills, Fusek is an intriguing prospect who could be drafted for his long term potential and is eligible for the 2017 NBA draft.

Les Schwab Invitational Recap

The Les Schwab Invitational has been around for 21 years, featuring a large number of NBA alums in it's history. The list includes the likes of Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson and Greg Monroe who have come from out-of-state. The talent from Oregon has produced Kevin Love, Kyle Singler, Terrence Jones, Terrence Ross and Kyle Wiltjer, to name a few. Since 2012, Aaron Gordon, Jahlil Okafor, Jaylen Brown and Ben Simmons have been top 5 picks, with last years tournament MVP, Markelle Fultz, almost certain to join them.

2017 is upon us and we are less than six months away from the draft as conference play has begun. The #1 pick remains up for grabs with a handful of players still in the mix to end up going first overall. With today's NBA being dominated by point guards, this year's draft becomes even more intriguing as this is quite possibly the best point guard draft ever with five potential franchise talents at the position in Fultz, Ball, Smith, Ntilikina, and Fox. If there was ever a year to tank, this is the one as even a top 8-10 pick is pure gold in this draft.
