NBA Draft: Top 10 Centers

Mon, 06/22/2015 - 9:13pm

"Two Big Splashes" has become the theme at the top with the draft's two premiere centers being taken by the team from the Land of Lakes, the T-Wolves, and the team that orginated there, the Lakers. Two wretched teams are going to be able to fill the most difficult to obtain position in the game with Karl-Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor. Coming off remarkable freshmen seasons, Towns and Okafor figure to provide an instant boost to the rebuilding efforts of their new teams.

NBA Draft: Top 10 Power Forwards

Mon, 06/22/2015 - 8:23am

In what I believe to be the deepest position in this draft, with as many as 10 players having the potential to be first round picks, the PF's also present some of the more interesting story lines to Thursday's draft. With the Latvian Porzingis reportedly getting serious consideration from every team in the top five not from The Land of 10,000 Lakes, along with the uncertainty surrounding where guys like Portis, Lyles and Harrell will be drafted, this group of guys could very well change the landscape of the entire draft if one of the proverbial "dominoes" were to fall early.

NBA Draft: Top 10 Small Forwards

Sun, 06/21/2015 - 7:13pm

It’s no secret; in today’s NBA, it’s the small forwards, led by LeBron and Durant, that are generally the most versatile, athletic players on the floor. This year’s draft class contains a menagerie of talented guys who bring a lot of different skills to the table. Some are seasoned recent graduates who led their teams all season. Some are underclassmen who blossomed in the postseason. And a few are international or JUCO prospects who come in as a bit of an unknown quantity. It’s not necessarily the deepest position in the draft, bu

Face Off: Karl-Anthony Towns vs Jahlil Okafor

Sat, 06/20/2015 - 11:33am

Year after year we always see big men rising up draft boards as June approaches, but this season there’s a pair of post men that could make a case for the top selection in the 2015 NBA draft. Karl Anthony Towns of Kentucky was a dominant presence in the paint for the regular season’s top team. Showing face up potential, the ability to guard the rim, and a feel for the game that allows GM’s to imagine a complete big a few years down the line, Towns is an intriguing canvass with a solid foundation and NBA size.

NBA Draft: Top 10 Shooting Guards

Fri, 06/19/2015 - 7:17am

Much like in today's NBA, the talent of this year's crop of shooting guards available is down. It is not as strong as other positons available, or in recent years. It has one star candidate in Crostian Mario Hezonja, the youngest prospect in the draft and a player with real intrigue as a shooter in Devin Booker and a number of prospects with a chance to be solid contributors. As many as five SGs figure to get into the first round. Although it's not as talent laden as many drafts, some sleepers could also come out of the second round.

NBA Draft: Top 10 Point Guards

Wed, 06/17/2015 - 5:06pm

In addition to the Warriors reshaping the mindset on how to win in today's NBA, the 2014-15 season may go down as the year of the point guard. In a year where Stephen Curry won the MVP award, Russell Westbrook led the NBA in scoring and 8 of 24 NBA All-Stars ran the point, the position has unprecedented depth and talent. It used to be that having a high level floor general was a luxury, and now it has become a virtual necessity.
