GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Alec Brown scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-12 shooting Tuesday night, leading Green Bay to a 78-61 victory over intrastate rival Milwaukee.

Brown, a junior, made four 3-pointers and added eight rebounds for the Phoenix (16-13, 10-5 Horizon League), who also got 18 points from Keifer Sykes and 15 from Greg Mays. Green Bay shot 53 percent from the field, never trailed and led by as many as 20.

Paris Gulley led the Panthers (8-23, 3-13) with 19 points. Jordan Aaron and Demetrius Harris chipped in 15 apiece.

Gulley’s jumper pulled Milwaukee within 57-52 with 6:29 left. But Green Bay responded with a 15-1 run, capped by Brown’s layup with 4:04 to play, that put the game out of reach.

Despite the victory, Green Bay lost its chance at a share of the Horizon League regular-season title when Valparaiso beat Youngstown State.
