The Wildcats have only two returning starters in Louisville commit Darius Perry, a 6-5 senior G, and 5-11 senior G Kenny Aniye, a Stetson commit.

Not to worry as Wheeler lifted its talent level through transfers. Start with junior forward E.J. Montgomery, a 6-10 Auburn commit who averaged 9.8 points and 7.3 rebounds at the Adidas Summer Championship and played at Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) last season.

The Wildcats also added Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.) transfer Jordan Tucker, a 6-7 senior SF who averaged 17.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

Then there’s Southern Cal commit Jordan Usher, a senior G who averaged 18.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks at Sequoyah (Canton, Ga.).

Another key transfer is 6-5 sophomore SG Terry Armstrong, who averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds at Carman-Ainsworth (Flint, Mich.).
