The No. 26 ranked player in the 2018 Rivals150, it should come as no surprise that point guard Jahvon Quinerly is entertaining big time suitors for his college services.

This spring and summer, the six-footer from New Jersey will be balancing a chase for five-star status with narrowing down his school list.

Kansas, Arizona, Stanford, Seton Hall, Villanova, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio State, California, Syracuse, St. John's and more have been involved with Quinerly so far. He’s visited Villanova and Virginia recently and plans to visit more schools in the near future.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Quinerly discussed his interest in a few of the programs recruiting him with Rivals.com.

Villanova: “I loved it. I loved the atmosphere over there. They are winners. Coach [Jay] Wright is a great coach.”

Virginia: “The coaches there, they fit my personality. I’m a laid back kinda guy and I know Coach [Tony] Bennett is a laid back guy. The coaching staff is great.”

Arizona: “Sean Miller came to my school and basically said I’m a priority for them. Book Richardson has been in touch with me every other day and I know Rawle Alkins a little bit.”

Stanford: “Coach [Jerod] Haase is a great guy. They said they have a great recruiting class coming in 2017 and they just want me to take a look at it. The academics are a big thing because I want the best of both worlds.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

Quinerly mentioned plans to visit Arizona and Stanford in the near future, but doesn’t have dates set just yet. He also talked about potentially trimming his long list of suitors down to a more manageable number sometime soon. In the meantime, he’ll be suiting up with Sports U for the duration of the current travel season trying to prove he’s the best point guard in the 2018 class.

RIVALS REACTION

One of the class of 2018's premiere point guards, Quinerly has only seen things heat up. On top of being an outstanding point guard, he's a big time student and academics will actually matter and won't be something that he just talks about as a factor. Villanova and Virginia seem to have the early jump on the crowd in this one.
