He scores 24 points in 69-66 win over St. John Bosco

Results from Saturday’s nine-game Nike Extravaganza at Santa Ana Mater Dei:

Mater Dei 47, Fairfax 34: After trailing, 25-20, at halftime, Mater Dei’s defense turned the game around, forcing turnovers and disrupting the Lions’ offense. Fairfax was limited to nine points in the entire second half in dropping to 25-1 on the season.

La’Vette Parker, fired up from the opening tip, had 22 points for the Monarchs. Mater Dei is 22-3. Fairfax was two for 19 from three-point range and had 15 turnovers.

Mount of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill 63, Bishop O’Dowd 52: Unbeaten Oak Hill won its second consecutive game in Southern California. Dwayne Bacon scored 22 points and Daniel Giddens 15. Ivan Rabb had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Bishop O’Dowd.

Bishop Gorman 72, Etiwanda 51: Duke-bound Chase Jeter had 19 points and 16 rebounds and fellow McDonald’s All-American Stephen Zimmerman added 14 points and nine rebounds. Charles O’Bannon and Nick Bair added 15 points apiece. Etiwanda received 20 points from Kameron Edwards.

Chino Hills 58, Westchester 52: UCLA commit Lonzo Ball, asked to score more because his brother, LiAngelo, has an ankle injury, contributed 34 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, six steals and four blocks.

Corona Centennial 69, St. John Bosco 66: Sedrick Barefield made three three-pointers in the fourth quarter, plus four clutch free throws in the final minute and finished with 24 points to help the Huskies hold off the Braves. Jordan Griffin added 21 points. A three-point attempt by Vance Jackson at the buzzer failed for St. John Bosco.

The Braves got a lift from sophomore JJ Watson. In his debut after moving and transferring from Diamond Ranch, he scored 12 points. Jackson had 19 points and Rodney Henderson 18.

Josh Giles, Centennial’s coach, was concerned about his team’s defense late in the game.

“It’s all about defense with us,” he said.

Orange Lutheran 75, Sonora 72: In a battle of top 25 teams, the Lancers prevailed on a three-point basket by Chris Williams with eight seconds left. Orange Lutheran (20-4) opened a 20-point lead at the outset of the third quarter. Sonora (19-5) rallied behind Ben Rico, who tied the game with seven seconds left by banking in a shot from inside the key. He finished with 24 points and Josh Rodriguez had 18 points.

For Orange Lutheran, C.J. Hankins made seven of eight shots and all four free throws to finish with 18 points. Rogers Printup had 20 points and nine rebounds.

Anaheim Canyon 64, JSerra 50: Kaleb Phillips contributed 15 points, Nick Anderson 14, Jordan Rohan 13 and Chandler Dignam 11 to lead Canyon. Alec Hickman had 21 points for JSerra.

Servite 55, St. Margaret’s 42: Trevor Treinen had 16 points to lead the Friars.

Los Alamitos 67, Villa Park 50: Will Ingram scored 24 points and had nine rebounds and Eyassu Worku added 20 points for Los Alamitos. Myles Franklin had 19 points for Villa Park.
