OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – If his play at the recent Jayhawk Invitational is any indication, recruiting will really pick up for Rivals150 wing Jordan Phillips this summer. Phillips showed off impressive athleticism, physicality and versatility while playing for Dallas-based Showtyme Elite.

"My biggest strength is attacking the defense and dishing it out if I need to," Phillips said. "I am a stable guard for my team and I think I'm versatile. I'm trying to work on my guard game for the next level."

It's not that Phillips is hurting for attention; he's already received offers from Tulsa, Rice, TCU, Incarnate Word and Louisiana Tech, while SMU, Texas Tech and Kansas State are paying close attention.

"There's a couple of schools that I feel will be right there until the end," Phillips said. "TCU and Tulsa, they stay on me really hard."

Phillips discussed what he likes about each program.

"Coach (Jamie) Dixon at TCU is a real good coach," he said. "He's energetic. I went to a couple of their games last season and they are pretty good.

"Tulsa, I've got to go down there. I've heard all kinds of good things about coach (Frank) Haith and I like what they are doing there."

This summer, Phillips says that he'll be open to all who are interested in his game and his plan is to take things slow.

"I feel like a place that gets out and plays run-and-gun a bit will be a good fit for me," said Phillips. "I like to play an up-and-down pace. But I still want to see who else I can get interested in me. I'm taking it slow."
