NBA Comparison: Wesley Johnson

Strengths: 6’5 athletic wing … Good length with a 6’9 wingspan … High-level athleticism with good run and jump ability. Very good finisher in the open floor. Catches oops and finishes with his head at the rim with ease … Good rotation on shot and has range out to the 3PT line. Quick release on shot … Good scoring ability. Can get hot and score in bunches. Finished fourth over the Nike EYBL in 2018 with 20.4 points per game while shooting 49.4% FG% … Solid rebounder for position … Good tools defensively and utilizes his athleticism well on that end. Light on his feet and jumps passing lanes well. Shows some versatility as a defender, switching onto multiple positions …

Weaknesses: He was a big-time scorer in high school, with proper development and working on his weaknesses, he can be even more dynamic. Needs to expand his half-court game and doesn’t get much movement off the ball. Tends to rely on scoring in transition and he’s not as effective when the game slows down. Can improve decision making and shot selection. Unnecessarily shoots one-footed fadeaways at times and settles for contested shots. Can also expand midrange game … Solid 3PT shooter and although he shot a solid 35% 3PT% over the Nike EYBL in 2018, he can improve shot consistency. He tends to shoot just as good with a defender in his face as he does wide open … Shaky ball handler, doesn’t create much offense or break down the defense off the dribble. Not much of a playmaker, only averaged 1.6 assists per game over the Nike EYBL in 2018 … Can improve strength, especially in the lower body …

Outlook: Former Arizona commit but decided to play professionally in the NBL in Austrailia … 2019 Grind Session First Team and Offensive Player of the Year. Helped Bella Vista Prep to win the 2019 Grind Session Championship …
