NBA Comparison: Bo Outlaw

Bobby Palumbi - 2/9/2008

Strengths: One of the premier shot blockers in the country Excellent run and jump athlete who creates most of his offense within 5 feet of the rim Decent touch on his jump shot, good release point Has shown range out to the 3-point line, and will take the wide open three, but isnt infatuated with it Knows his role offensively and plays it well High energy player, runs the break well Gets a lot of garbage points around the rim, but can really throw down some nasty dunks off of rebounds on the offensive glass Seems to be working on his back to basket moves, developing a nice little jump hook Good lateral quickness allows him to come off the block and defend Really plays with a lot of effort Truly alters the game of opponents with his shot block ability Doesnt bite on the pump fake easily

Weaknesses: Still trying to develop an offensive game, and although he is a junior, he will be 25. Really makes you wonder how much room he has left to grow offensively ... Physically, he needs to get stronger to bang inside on the next level Takes some bad fouls, too many of which are outside the paint His aggressiveness blocking shots puts him in foul trouble frequently, especially taking in mind that he only averages 25 minutes a game Not an imposing player on the offensive end unless he is cleaning up the glass Has trouble getting position down low, which goes back to his body strength and age. Can he get significantly stronger? Good at grabbing rebounds, but not as good as he could be Technique and footwork need to improve

Notes: Could be an intriguing project for some team. Could definitely see him playing in a high energy offensive team where he could come off the bench and be a shot-blocking presence who can run the floor (Suns) ... Transfer student, so he sat out last year.
