NBA Comparison: Stephen Jackson

Aran Smith – 6/2/2006

Strengths: Wing with excellent athleticism and size … Has good length, an NBA athlete … Very unselfish, team player … Doesn’t get out of control or try to do too much … Thrives in an up tempo open floor game, (which is not Georgetown’s style). Getting up and down the floor, crashing the glass with high flying dunks … Great body control and good finisher around the basket … Body has improved, shows solid strength … Has become a very good defender … Ball handling and passing are solid for a SF …

Weaknesses: Sometimes leaves you wanting more, has a tendency to coast at times … Not the most fiery of player … Appears to be a more talented player than he is able to show … Offensive skills are somewhat limited … Lacks a great shot from outside, scores mostly within 12 feet of the basket … Did not have the standout senior season many expected after averaging 15 ppg as a junior (his scoring dropped to 11 ppg), some of that is due to the G-Town system, as well as the emergence of sophomores Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert …
