Make your best team
Mine is
PG. Chris Paul
SG. Caron Butler
SF. Kevin Durant
PF. Pau Gasol
C. Brook Lopez
BENCH-
DJ White
Shaun Livingston
Corey Brewer
Kevin Love
Joakim Noah
The contracts add up to like 57 million. I went for the best possible starters and just a lot of youth on my bench.
I'll try..
Starters:
PG: Rajon Rondo (2,623,326)
SG: Brandon Roy (3,910,816)
SF: Kevin Durant (4,796,880)
PF: Amare Stoudamire (16,378,325)
C: Dwight Howard (15,133,800)
Backups:
PG: Rodney Stuckey (1,805,040)
SG: Anthony Morrow (736,420)
SF: Danilo Gallinari (3,089,040)
PF: Jason Thompson (2,035,920)
C: Al Horford (4,307,640)
PF: Oleksiy Pecherov (1,547,640)
SF: Donte Greene (870,700)
The salaries come to $57,235,597.
I could have used people like Rudy Gay (3,280,996) on my bench, but I just decided to use people that might play a backup role on a team.
I started by trying to find the best players at a low salary, then for my bigs I took players that made a high salary because I had money to spare.
PG- Calderon
SG- Roy
SF- Granger
PF- Horford
C- Nene
PG- Blake
SG- JR Smith
SF- Battier
PF- Scola
C- Hibbert
Others: Pietrus and Bonner
this adds up to about 63 million, doesnt look to good but this was just a quickly made team, tried to make it deep and have a team that would actually play together
Best of Luck beating us
G- Chris Paul 13.5
G- Kevin Durant 4.8
F- Lebron James 15.8
F- Al Horford 4.3
C- Brook Lopez 2.3

F- Earl Clark 1.7
F- Chuck Hayes 2.1
F- Rasheed Wallace 5.9
C- Joakim Noah 2.5
We have it all, youth, experience, guys who can do the dirty work, versatility. We might never lose, plus Rasheed will cause drama but yet provide humor
grand total- $56.3 Million
your team is very solid, just not quite as good as mine lol, i have 3 of the top 7 players in the whole league who compliment each other very well. no bench? clee started for a finals team, rasheed will be highly motivated with lebron in his ear, plus noah and chuck hayes are mad men on the boards who are big playoff contributors. morrow shoots the lights out and earl clark can do a little of everything.
this was actually lots of fun, good concept whoever came up with this
rdot, i'm not making fun of your team. just having fun myself. well done
Here is my team
5 starters with an 8 man bench all under the cap and no rookies
I think it would be pretty solid until a lot of the guys started wanting contract extensions, as a lot of them are still on their rookie contracts (Durant, Roy, Aldridge) and we would have to let them go because we couldn't afford to pay them.
PG - Chris Paul $13,520,500

If my team meshed well and didn't complain about PT (unlikely) I don't think this team could lose. I only have one person with an attitude too, Artest.
Starters:
PG-Chris Paul (13.5mill)
SG-Brandon Roy (3.9mill)

C-Javale Mcgee (1.5mill)
Deandre Jordan (.8mill)
=13 mill
Total Salary = $57.5 million
This team is great because it has the perfect blend of inside/outside game. There are also no players that should be full time starters yet on my bench which could have lead to disgruntled players and disrupted chemistry. Defensively this team could match up with anyone.
PG- Rajon Rondo (2.62)
SG- OJ Mayo ( 4.16)
SF-Andre Igoudala ( 12.2)
PF- Andrea Bargnani (6.52)
C- Brook Lopez(2.25)
Bench
G- Johnny Flynn (2.96)
G- Mike Taylor (0.736)
G- Nick Young ( 1.74)
F- De Andre Jordan (0.736)
F- James Posey ( 6.03)
F-Dejuan Blair
C- Javale Mcgee- (1.49)
All this cost 41 million Cheap and effective.......still don't know how much dejuan blair would cost, but still won't raise the overall salary by that much.......this team is a force to be reckoned with
Yeah I agree my teams bench wouldn't be bench players in the NBA, but the goal was a fantasy team right?
like I said my team is also screwed in two years when a lot of the teams entry level contracts are up
Many of you guys have done a good job building teams that are more suited for an actual season (balancing attitudes, experience, and thinking of long term growth of the team) I might try to build one more like that later this afternoon.
Well when I thought of this my team was something like...
PG: Aaron Brooks (1,118,520)
SG: Andre Iguadola (12,200,000)
SF: Shane Battier (6,864,200)
PF: Dirk Nowitzki (19,795,714)
C: Kendrick Perkins (4,250,000)
Bench:
PF:Jason Thompson ($2,035,920)
SG: Rudy Fernandez ($1,165,320)
C: Marc Gasol (3,240,000)
PG: Shaun Livingston (???)
SF: Eduardo Najera (3,100,000)
PF:Mikki Moore (2,000,000)
DeAndre Jordan (736,420)
It was harder then I thought, but yep...after looking I spent alot on some starters, but that should be right around 57 Million. Possibly a little over. Is my team good?
My team average age is possibley under 26 years old and they are a nice young core......each person puts something on the table, and the bench is pretty strong with flynn leading and young being a scorer, they also have a defensive presence in mcgee, and a outside stopper in posey.......My team was realistic non-the-less and that was what i was aiming for......
Lottery Common lol they probably will have better chemistry then alot of these teams
I had Iggy at the 3, but then I looked at the players I had already picked.
Dirk and Brooks so I thought I should drop Iggy to the 2 and bring in a defensive minded player who won't be bothered if he doesn't score and can help spread the floor since Iggy isn't the best shooter. Then I picked Perkins to help rebound because Dirk won't do it every night. Brooks was cheap and a nice player that can hit an open shot and create if needed and Dirk is Dirk; he brings that experience. The bench is young which is why I threw in Mikki Moore and Najera to help out.
That's weird I never noticed that before. ESPN does only have him listed at 2 million per season. I think Hoopshype has it right at 9 million though.
PG Rajon Rondo 2,623,326
SG Kevin Durant 4,796,880
SF Lebron James 15,779,972
PF Blake Griffen 4,983,480
C Andrew Bogut 10,000,000
Rudy Gay $3,280,996
Rudy Fernandez $1,165,320
Kalenna Azubuike $3,132,000
Andray Blatche $3,000,000
Jason Thompson $2,035,920
Rodrigue Beaubuis $1,075,440
Serge Ibaka 1,120,200
Joe Crawford $736,420
Left 2 roster spots open and totaled $54 million nearly.. left 3 million and change open for the youngsters on team and growing salaries. I'm not too familiar with NBA roster payout and the luxury tax element of this, but here's my team.
Great backcourt starting and bench, lacking on the frontcourt though.
Looks like too many projects in front court (Ibaka, Thompson, Blatche)
What you guys think, suggestions?
Thank you R Dot, i've been a FAN!!!! of this site for a couple years now, just never really found the forum aspect of it. I raelly like the wide variety of topics on this site and the indepth knowledge of many of the posters.
Glad to be part of the site
PG: Russell Westbrook- 3.76 got a PG who can take it to the rack at will and get to the foul line; also a great rebounder/defender for a PG...
SG: Brandon Roy- 3.9 a 2 that will be the end-of-game closer and is a good distributor.
SF: Shane Battier-6.9 the 3 is a lockdown defender who can stretch the court and hit the open 3~ doesn't need a lot of shots.
PF: Kevin Garnett- 14.4 this is my guy, first and foremost, a selfless team player. can hit the open shot, gets into on defense, great passer
C: Pau Gasol- 14.45 good offensive game anywhere, whether it's in the post or hitting the mid range
6: Brook Lopez 2.3- also a good post game and a good rebounder/shot blocker
7: Aaron Brooks- 1.11- spark off the bench and instant offense.
8: Wilson Chandler 1.3- another solid wing defender who can stretch the court
9: Antonio McDyess -5.85- veteran guy who can step up and give solid everything
10: Rudy Fernandez 1.2- a good 3pt shooter and an athlete~ good team guy, good energy off the bench
11: George Hill -1.11- can come in against bigger PG if Brooks can't hold it down
12: Aaron Afflalo- 1.1- another solid defender if needed off the bench
$57.38 M
The key is late first-rounders because they have the lowest salaries while they're still at the rookie rates... I think this would be a great TEAM

Ok, I know this can go horribly bad or go really good so....If you could make an NBA Fantasy Team, Up to 15 Players, Minimum 12, but you have to make sure the salaries work. :O But before we can start, I don't know the Salary Cap/Luxuray Tax, but you can't go over it. Hopefully someone can find it so I can edit this and let everyone know. The best website to use would be Hoopshype.com and go to salaries and let's just throw out the Rookies since not all are signed. Hopefully this goes well and hopefully someone can find the info I don't have or know.
Here's the cap.the Salary Cap for the 2009-10 season will be $57.7 million
I don't know Lux. Tax, but...I think this may be a little too complicated.
