STOP OVERHYPING SESSIONS
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... The guy can not shoot... I read in the other post some of you saying hes a better shooter than he has shown.. I pulled up College, D lg, and nba stats, and unless im going blind hes NOT a good shooter.. Hes not even a great midrange shooter.. WHY THE HYPE?? PLease dont tell me its cause he has one or two great gms.
Tony Delk (even had a 50+ pt gm, but I would never sign him to my tm)... Just an example, im curious why Sessions is getting so much recognition in here... Maybe its me, but stats talk (and if not stats, then record does) and he shows CRAP on both.
some of his #'s (a copy and paste from another sessions post)
what has sessions done to warrant all star type talent.. Killed it in d lg?? LOL.. Is he a shooter cause he went 3-7 the yr b4 from 3?
FROM COLLEG HOOPS.NET (Weaknesses: Needs to show that he can score – junior season was his only year in double digits in scoring per game. Shoots the three for a good percentage, but has only hit 25 long bombs total for his college career – needs to establish an outside shot to stop NBA defenders from cheating off him. Junior year was the only season he shot for a respectable percentage from the field.)
SO please find me some stats that SHOW he is a good shooter, cause i cant find any.. Let me guess you played against him in high school? LOL...in 07/08 season in d lg in 24 gms he shot 12 3's.. So 3 took 0.5 3 pt attempts a gm... Also shot under 34 % LOL... So once again ill ask, SHOW ME HE CAN SHOOT.. I DONT CARE HOW, GET ME A YOUTUBE CLIP, cause hes not a shooter..
D grizzly you have as much knowledge as your lottery bound tm... OK TINY TIM?
so opposed to name calling, can someone supply me facts, or is this the opinion forum... Anyone can say someone is better than he is, but until i have proof, why think otherwise.
cuz he can't shoot either. But I will tell you what.....he can be on my team anyday.
That said, I'm not a fan of no shoot-all pass PGs. It's also why I wouldn't have drafted someone like Ricky Rubio.
really? is it time for you to change your tampon?
this is a basketball forum...and you're gonna whine like a b!tch because you don't like a point guard.
i think the kid has some potential. nobody really calls him a star, atleast they shouldn't. but for you to get all butt-hurt about somebody liking a player.....that's just poor.
hahahahahahahahahahahahah d-grizzly callin it like it is
Ramon Sessions is not bad. IMO, you can call him a poor man's Rajon Rondo. Yes Sessions must improve shooting but he is a bargain at 26 mil and he can improve his shooting. As a PG, either you can make the pass or you cannot. we seen players improve shooting over there 1st 2-3 seasons. LeBron was not a great shooter off the bat.
whine? LOL what implies whining, the facts i stated..."change my tampon", i must be dealing with a little kid.... my bad ill let u state opinions with NO FACTUAL INFORMATION... Sorry im a fact guy, not a LETS PULL SOMETHING OUT OF MY YOU NOWHERE GUY....Apparently grizzlies fans are pretty knowledgable.
He seems like a good pass-first PG, I dont know alot about him having only seen him 2 times. He looks like a slasher with good playmaking ability.
microwave i agree with your point about sessions not being a good shooter, but you are whining like my 5 year old brother.... if you don't like him that's your opinion, but to get all CAPS about it issssssss whining
QGotham15 - at least you know he cant shoot...maybe grizzly cant enlighten us with more of his NBA superior knowledge.. Dont be upset i provided the facts to prove your a moron... Facts are facts.
anyone else think the microwave's post is nothing but a spoonfull of bull$hit.
He is being overhyped..
But he's 23, is it too late to develop a shot?
to be honest, Sessions wont need to shoot. I think if he can slash alot to the basket and pass in NY, he will be loved in NY.
Correct me if im wrong, didn't Marc Jackson have issues shooting?
the caps are not intentional other than the title itself.. LOL im not a cpu guy and i accidentally hit the cap lock like 75 times a sentence.. Sorry if caps upset u, but im not deleting it just to retype it..
(mainly i have been fairly impressed with some of your knowledge in the forum, just seems like the idiots are out today.. To many retarded posts with no credibility....) --- generalizing of course, i have read some good ones..
Position: Point Guard
2008-09 PER: 17.65
2008-09 PER as Point Guard: 20.6
2007-08 PER: 16.48
Assist Percentage Ranking (greater than 1500 minutes played): 11th
2-year Adjusted +/-: 4.60 (5th among point guards)
That's what Bucks point guard Ramon Sessions brings to the table after two seasons in the NBA -- more youth and greater efficiency than either Jason Kidd and Mike Bibby, who have already been seated. Rodney Stuckey was born 10 days after Sessions, yet has been anointed as a starter in Detroit with lesser or equal numbers across the board. Sessions has the size and ability to guard both ones and twos, and has demonstrated the capacity to do so.
There are some red flags on Sessions' stat sheet. He isn't yet an efficient outside shooter. He's drained a grand total of nine 3-pointers in his two seasons in the league, which has kept his effective FG percentage down at just below 45 percent -- not so good for a guard. But there's a silver lining here, too. Sessions gets to the line 7.8 times per 36 minutes. Among point guards, only Devin Harris, Chris Paul, and Chauncey Billups top Sessions in this category. This brings his true shooting percentage above 52 percent.
Sessions was drafted No. 56 overall by Milwaukee in 2007-08. After a stint during his rookie season in the D-League, he was called up to the big club and impressed. Milwaukee extended him a qualifying offer of a little more than $1 million. Given the financial state of the Bucks franchise and their selection of Brandon Jennings in last month's draft, it's likely that they'd decline to match a sizable offer for Sessions by another team.
I asked several different basketball people here in Las Vegas who could tell me about Sessions' game, the unanimous response was, "Dan D'Antoni is your man."
D'Antoni, a Knicks assistant, coached Sessions in AAU ball in South Carolina and is one of Sessions' boosters. When we approached D'Antoni in the stands at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas and asked tell us more about Sessions, he enthusiastically agreed. D'Antoni is quite possibly the nicest guy in Clark County right now. When we walked down the bleachers to the corner of the gym, the drone of the PA was loud, and D'Antoni led me to the stairwell, where he could offer his testimony in relative quiet.
This is why people are high on him as well as his knack for putting up triple doubles.
grizzly read above, some people are agreeing with me... Hey listen if he develops a shot, im no idiot, ill give him his props.. Shoot i hope he does, knicks could use all the help they can get, but until then, hes overhyped.. Just facts.
whoever commented on marc jackson, shouldnt we also mention who his team mates were??? I mean were talking seperate beasts. You are comparing one of the best PG's of all time, to Sessions....Mark Jackson was a POST UP PG..this whole post was based upon the thread titled SESSIONS to knicks / clippers...
maybe his shooting is being overhyped, but i think sessions the player is not being overhyped. he's a solid PG who makes his teammates better, IMO. I think he's well worth the midlevel.
Just chill dude. Sessions hasnt been a proven 3-point shooter but when you watch him in a game it isnt a glaring weakness. I've seen him play and I've also seen him hit big 3's. He hasnt shot a high volume of 3's but that can definitely be improved upon. People are high on him because of his size and efficiency. I can think of a few of the best PG's that have poor percentages.
Oh and I love Marc Jackson but he wasnt one of the GOAT.
I said Marc Jackson. So im correct, he wasnt that much of a shooter?
Im not comparing them, I picked a NY PG who didn't shoot alot. Yes he had Ewing, Wilkins, Walker and etc. but adding Sessions to a team with jump shooter and some good post players can relive the fact he cannot shoot that well.
just for the record everyone, i think its marK (not marc) jackson.... marc jackson is the 7-footer who played for the wolves and 76ers. don't know where he's at now.
how does this statement make any sense.
"Sessions hasnt been a proven 3-point shooter but when you watch him in a game it isnt a glaring weakness."
Are you saying hes got great form on his J? Good rotation? Stats show he cant shoot... AKA GLARING WEAKNESS..
i like to see to believe......Never shot over 45 % in his career, and thats including inside the arc.
badgerhustler your right, marc is the big man.. Played for temple.. I think i even mispelled it myself.
It isnt a glaring weakness because he doesnt shoot a high volume. He comes up with big shots and isnt killing his team because he stays away from his weakness. You made your point that his shooting is a big negative now get a life. You're way too cynical.
a glaring weakness is something where you say dang, that guy should not be on the court because of _______. i think what he meant is, he's never seen sessions play and seen teams take advantage of his lack of shooting. if anything, ppl playing off sessions gives him more freedom to set-up his teammates cuz no one is up in his face!
exactly if i was covering sessions id give him and arms length at all times... NO reason to cover someone tight who cant shoot..Funny how some people in here get so upset.. Everytime someone is proven wrong they get truly upset and it results to name calling.. I remember those days, b4 my balls dropped, dont worry knicksfan your little fellas will come down soon too.. Youll be a man soon enough. Im sure your ballies will drop b4 the knicks are above 500, so look at the bright side you have something in your favor!
haha where did i use name calling. Maybe you can learn what cynical means when they let you go back for your GED.
hahaha yea mircowave, you're the only i've seen getting upset... clown
maybe u can learn some b-ball.... first step to correct this problem - stop watching the knicks... That is not b-ball..
Another thing I think held sessions back from shooting alot is he played 27mpg. I think Sessions will improve. He is not far off from 45% shooting.
not upset at all just feels good to be right..... my bad knicksfreak, u didnt call me a name, that was grizzly.. You both are morons so i get u two confused.
wow...Mircowave you were looking at knicksfreak's balls? How you know they didn't drop? LOL
You need to relax a bit sir
it's just sad to read what this kid has to say. you guys should get out of this kid's post, i did awhile back.
D grizzly - add your wins, and knicks wins, and i think your closing in on 500
microwave...what is your favorite team?
Just go back to burying your face in the stats sheets. Maybe you can look away from your &$#%#&@! sites this season to watch some games and realize stats arent everything. I can imagine you playing xbox in your mom's basement thinking about what cynical means. I'm a real fan that sticks with my team. I dont jump on the bandwagon like you probably do. Let me guess... is your favorite team the Thunder, Lakers, or Cavs?
you can add my twolves wins and we probably wouldn't have hit .500 ... you can't judge someone based on who their favorite team is, besides the fact that we're not fair weather fans
Jason Kidd recently got the "J" back in his name because he wasn't a great shooter for 85% of his career. So regardless of age you can learn to shoot. Micheal Redd is another that came to mind, he wasn't a great shooter when he came in the league but with help of Ray Allen look at him now. What Im trying to say is he shows great playmaking ability and great heart with his continuous attacking of the paint and play on D so he is a great pickup for any team in need for a PG
I wish Sheltwon was here right now. He would love to go head up with microwave about Sessions. Last night I was argueing that Sessions wasnt a top 5 PG in the NBA and now I'm argueing that he has the talent to be a very good guard.
hahaha that's cuz sheltwon and microwave are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum and as is almost always the case, the truth lies somewhere inbetween...
my favorite tm is the sixers... 41-41 baby.. 500 smells nice...... Eagles, phillies, sixers... playoffs / ws champs / playoffs... any further questions???
D-legend true, and as i said on sessions he gets a J he gets my props.. Jason kidds nickname in college was ASON cause he had no J... Im very familiar and your 100 % correct on your pt!
i stick behind my behind team too, reguardless of what lil kids say...like what microwave says.
"Last night I was argueing that Sessions wasnt a top 5 PG in the NBA and now I'm argueing that he has the talent to be a very good guard", said knickfan
(does this make u confused, most people dont find themselves until there early 20's.. Youll get there kid, dont worry)
what does someone's favorite team have anything to do with their opinion about ramon sessions... unless their favorite team is the bucks.
i'm so proud of you being a fan of 3 playoffs teams, one of which was a world champion! omg! your mother would be proud, you did well in life
Hope you enjoy floating around .500 for the rest of eternity.
Grizzly listen i dont even see you.. KNicksfan and i are arguing but i have seen him say something intelligent in the past, just isnt having a good tuesday i guess.. everyone of your posts is 100 % retarded.. Honestly if i were u id stop watching sports and take up being a hairdresser or something.. Your a fruit! aka fruit cake, aka you take in the dumper!
