the 76ers dont be stupid!

now i know im get my ass chewed out on this one. but i just dont see how and the world the 76ers can think holiday can be the point guard of the future for them. i know summer league means nothing. but he played and look like a second round player to me. i think he can be decent as a backup. yes a backup. and if he learns the right way to play the point. but anyway the 76ers need to stop &$#%#&@! around and resign andre miller to a deal . because i just dont see them going anywhere without a decent point guard. lou williams is more like a combo guard, and like i said about jrue he looks like a backup . now maybe he proves me wrong. but if you ask me they shoulda got teague, maynor or sign a decent point guard .

Eveybody said I was crazy

Eveybody said I was crazy when I said he deserved to undrafted. He isnt good at anything to me, except for defense and hustling. Which is what you'd expect from an undrafted guy, not the "PG of the future". He is sooo overrated.

Should Have Stayed

He definitely should have stayed at UCLA and learned more from Howland. I guess he thought he was just going to instantly be the next Westbrook, that he's just going to have early success, but it looks as of now that he won't be a great player. The 76ers definitely need to find a way to re-sign Andre Miller.

i agree that they need to

i agree that they need to resign miller. I really thought that Lawson or Teague would be a better fit for them, but instead they drafted holiday. Idk i agree that he just isn't ready to be a starter yet. He MIGHT be a good backup towards the end of the year, but I just don't see him as a starter in the NBA. He is young though, so we will have to see how it pans out.

Jrues not even an NBA player

Jrues not even an NBA player if you ask me..

Letting Miller go, would be a huge mistake for them

I like the depth of every position on that team except PG, which could be the most important position..

He fell out of the lottery for a reason, and hes like the only 1st round rookie thats not signed, makes me thing they're looking into trade him

If they lose Miller, i suggest they try hard as hell to get another PG or it can really affect there season..

Jrue

I watched him play in Orlando, and i thought he looked all right. He was able to break the press, he got into the lane, and he put good pressure on the ball. He is still learning how to play point and he has to be a better finisher. I've read multiple articles where the scouts thought he looked solid and promising in the summer league despite subpar numbers. Keep in mind, he just turned 19 like what, a month ago? Why are the sixer fans already giving up on him. Maynor looked pretty bad in the summer as well, and while Lawson and Collison have shown some promise, they are also guys who went to college for 4 years.

Teague

I wanted Jeff Teague. I didnt want anyone else. Plain and simple. I think he will be the best PG of all the PG's that fell out of the lotto.

why

did'nt teague play in the summer league? If atl did'nt put a team out, he could have played with another team like Gerald Henderson did.

I also think Beaubois will

I also think Beaubois will be better, I actually think he will be better than many pg in this draft, hes looking good.
But i am almost positive he probably wasnt even in the discussion for getting picked at 17

Yea

But realistically he wasnt on the 76ers radar, or anyone in the teens' radar. He will be a starter in Dallas when Kidd leaves, no question.

I've liked Beaubois ever

I've liked Beaubois ever since way before the draft, I agree that he will definetly start in a couple years, and he will be very good.

playing on another team did

playing on another team did not work out so well for Henderson. There are always busts in the draft or players that take long to develop. Holiday could be one and so can Thabeet or they could be busts. Think about it everyone else has looked good to great and there has to be some weak links in every draft. It sucks for the team that drafts them. I actually think Holiday has long term potential because he can defend his position. Sometimes things work backward. Most rookies come in and cant defend but can score. Holiday can defend but can't score that well. Also with his size and quickness learning to score will not be that hard but there are some players that still can't defend. Philly is not the right team for him to learn though maybe Rubio comes back and Flynn and some excess big gets traded to Philly for Holiday and someone else. Holiday would work well taking his time to develop in Minnesota. Also Holiday can play off guard. Holiday may develop like Jarrett Jack did. It took him awhile but he is solid now. Kinda sad that he has to be a back up.

Does overvalueing the summer

Does overvalueing the summer league never get old. Here people are dismissing Jrue's game, and already calling Beaubois the pg of the future when all he did was play well in 5 games with no defense. Anyone would have thought calling Beaubois anything near the future pg for dallas would have been insane just two weeks ago, but the summer league always changes people's minds.
There is a reason why this guy was considered a top 10 pick. He is quite young and a borderline project, but at 17 he is an amazing value. Over the last couple of years, everyone laughs at the Sixers high upside type drafts, that have ultimately proven succesful.
Lets examine a scenario remarkably similar to the current one concerning Jrue. A few years ago every single sixers fan ( including myself) hammered the teams drafting strategy in taking a young underproducing athletic player over an older polished player. I believe NBA draft gave them something like a C. These older players then went on to have dominant summer league performances, while the sixer pick struggled. All that summer I could not come to terms with how the sixers could have made such a stupid pick. The situation I'm talking about is selecting Thaddeus Young over Julian Wright. Young is amongst the best players in 07 draft class, while wright is still in the summer league.

A similar occurence can be found last year when they took the less polished Speights over Arthur, which once again made me irrate.

Give Jrue some time, have some faith in the sixers organization that really has been spot on in its picks over the last few years where everyone else criticized their picks, and stop overvalueing the summer league.

You guys are killing the man

You guys are killing the man because Jennings and Evans are tearing up....SUMMER LEAGUE. Holiday looked OK in Orlando. He will shock alot of people in 2 seasons.

People forget, He played SG last year. He has to learn the PG position. He has not played 1 game in the NBA and your calling him a bust...He needs time to develop. If He shows flashes in the regular season, you guys would see " Oh, He needs more PT!" " Put him in the starting lineup!"

I said it before the Draft and ill say it now " Holiday is a 19 year old kid who can play PG. I think his game is more unselfish and with time, he can develop into a starting PG"

Better watch some ball sir...

Their actually is alot tougher on ball defense in summer league than in the NBA regular season, so for players to perform well isnt exactly easy. Guys are trying to prove themselves so they are fighting out there it, gets real physical. Dont blow off summer league like its not alot of competition.
