T'Wolves v. Bulls
How can you not like Jonny Flynn? He is impressive. Gets up and down the floor with no problem, is a great playmaker and has a swag on the court. He isnt a great shooter, and he was off today, but he is the best drive and dish rookie from what Ive seen. Can go scoreless and still have a huge impact on the game. Has a crazy crossover and electric quickness. Made a CRAZY windmill at the end of the game. He will be a liability somewhat on the ball on D, because he is too small. He is quick and shows live hands so he will gets steals and put pressure on the ball. He does fight getting posted up, and he pushed Anthony Roberson off the elbow when he tried to post him once. When he improves his shooting, he will be an elite PG. Until then he is an above average starter at the NBA level. 7 pts, 7 assts,1 stls.
Corey Brewer is making strides. He is still scrawny and the asst. coach for Minnesota say he lives in the weight room, but he's only gained 3 pounds since he was drafted. Guess he'll always be weak then. Still a great athlete despite injury. He is better and more confident on offense, but dont expect him to get close to 15 ppg next year. Cant take more than 2 dribbles without losing the ball. Below average shooter, but he's better than he used to be. Of course, he's an elite young defennder. Will play a role, but he will still be a liability on offense. May be time to call him the "b" word. (not that one). 20 pts, 4 rebs.
Wayne Ellington is stroking it. He has an elite jumper, it will be one of the best in the NBA even as a rookie. He needs better handles though, and he always drives right. A bad defender, and James Johnson was having his way with him. He will play good minutes next yr. 10 pts, 4 rebs.
Paul Harris is a liability on offense. He's actually alot worse than Brewer, never thought I'd say that. He is a dog defensively. DeMarcus Nelson and Anthony Roberson looked scared to throw the ball his way lol. Gets in your shirt. He isnt an NBA player, but he plays All-NBA defense. 6 pts, 4 rebs, 1 stl, 1 blk
Ben Woodside looked more like Drew Neitzel than JJ Barea. He shouldnt make their roster, he'd be better off overseas. 6 pts, 4 assts.
O. Pecherov is weak as hell. He looks goofy on the court. He is a good shooter for his size but he isnt good for anything else except rebounding. NBA player, for now. 4pts, 8 rebs.
Rob Kurz should play in the NBA. He has a nice shot with 3 pt range. Needs to get stronger though to truly be at least decent. 10pts, 4 rebs.
James Johnson is a good player. He has the size of a 4 with quick feet and the smoothness of a 2-guard or 3. Has an average jump shot. Good passer with vision of the floor. Decent 1st step that good enough to get to the rim with. Strong. Could be a better defender. Good rebounder. He will play minutes next year, thats for sure. Good role player in the future. 18 pts, 7 rebs, 4 assts.
DeMarcus Nelson played good. Forced Jonny Flynn into an off shooting game with his defense. His D will be the thing that may get him PT in the NBA. He is very strong and did post Flynn up 2 times I remember. A decent shot, and he can score and will make good athletic finishes at the rim. Not a true PG, but is a solid passer and OK ball handler. I think he should get a roster spot and earn some playing time. 18 pts, 2 rebs, 2 assts.
Anthony Roberson will not be a good PG in the NBA, but one thing is certain: he can put the ball in the net. He has a sweet jumper and a very quick release. Never changes his form. He has the quickness to create and get off his shot. He reminds me of Janerro Pargo, except he doesnt even try to play D. He will make a roster and contribute as long as his coach lets him play off the ball and not try to make him a PG. 15 pts, 1 assts.
Brandon Costner isnt playing very good. He has decent size and a nice shot, but he is soft in the post. Cant create for himself and he is a poor defender. He kind a reminds me of Mike Beasley, except alot less polished. Could make the roster, but he shouldnt play alot. 9 pts, 6 rbs, 2 assts.
God, I hate Josh Shipp. He has always sucked to me. But anyway, he did make a few plays. He isnt athletic enough to play in the NBA though. 5 pts, 4 rebs
That sold me on Flynn was one game I watched he was not looking to score he was penetrating and just finding shooters with ease all game. I don't know how much he scored but it was in the teens. I still felt like he dominated the whole game from his ability to find the open man.
Yea he has a talent for making the right decision, knowing when to drive and when to pull up. And when pass and when to go for his own layin. He is definitely cut from the Chris Paul mold.
