Mo Williams is a 2nd scoring

Mo Williams is a 2nd scoring option. Everybody's just bashing him because he disappeared in the Orlando series. But anyway, a 2nd option is a player that doesnt quite have the scoring instincts of the # 1 and usually has a defined role such as shooting 3's, mid range, or just slashing to the hoop. Usually takes the burden off the # 1 offensively to open up the game more. They also usually play another role such as guarding the other teams best player or rebounding. I think Mo Williams is a great No.2, David West, Caron Butler, and Hedo Turkoglu are example of good ones as well.

Thats What I was Trying to prove these guys are just angry with his performance of one series that they don't give him credit for the other things he did during the season.....and all those you guys are great #2 options.

Sorry Dude I see Mo Williams

Sorry Dude I see Mo Williams as a #3 option. He is a season #2 but a playoffs #3.

He bombed the Orlando Series, was shooting terribly and guaranteed a series win! I do not see him as a #2 after Rafer Alston ( who played on like 6 teams) ate him up. If i am correct, didn't Alston have like 25 points in the 3rd in like game 4 or 5? Mo is a #3

Mo Williams could wind up a

Mo Williams could wind up a solid 2nd option because last year was his first year with that team and that system. Also with Shaq there he should be a 3rd option. Personally I sse him as more of a 3rd option to me. On most playoff contending teams, he would be a third option which is not a bad thing. To me a second option is a guy who at one point was carrying a team but realize it was necessary to take a step back and support a guy who is better a carrying a team than him. Gasol did this with Kobe. Gasol has carried a team with mixed results. Odom never really did well as 2nd option no matter where he went but if you allow him to be a 3rd option or anything after that he excels. He did it in Miami first and then with the Lakers once Bynum emerged and also when Lakers got Gasol. Mo Williams is nice but could never carry a team. I will give you another example Rashard Lewis is talented but he is more of a 3rd option even though he played 2nd option to Ray Allen in Seatle, he is more comfortable being that 3rd guy and he has had to carry seatle a few times but he is no consistent with it. As talented as Rashard is. he was a option behind Howard, Nelson, and Hedo at most time and maybe got move up to 2nd or 3rd option if he was hot. Shaq even at him age will be a solid 2nd option putting Mo Williams in the 3rd option where he will excel. Even with Shaq not playing big minutes it will be enough to keep Mo Williams outstanding in the regular season and then when the playoff come it will be even more key when Shaq will play more minutes and all the games.

No

Shaq wont score more than Mo Williams next year. Mo Williams will be the No.2 option for them. I can promise you that. Rashard Lewis is a No.2 guy that will be playing a No. 3 role next year because of the Vince Carter trade. Pau is the best no. 2 option in the NBA in my opinion.

Shaq is Not The Same......He Is More of A Garbage Man now, they won't feed him the ball as much and he will just get the rebound and throw it down....he ain't even a option unless they facing houston...Delonte West is probably their 3rd option

IMO, a second option is a great scorer who just isnt the best player on his team. The second scoring option should be able to take all responsibilites if the first option is hurt or just having a bad night. On another team, they would be the number one option.

Low Blow.... Also, The Cavs

Low Blow....

Also, The Cavs are not gonna win this year's title with Mo and West as the 2nd and 3rd option. LeBron will wake up and realize that and will demand a real #2 from the Front Office or just leave in the offseason.

Mo Williams had 17 point regular season average because everyone focus on LBJ. When he hits the playoffs...he looks weak, cannot defend well.

If you read what I wrote.

If you read what I wrote. They will use Shaq's passing to get their shooters open. You guys are not looking at team sets. Shaq will not have to play big minutes or do much but he will get his touches and will make plays. Scoring does not make you a 2nd option. It depends on touches. They would not have trade for Shaq and not give him touches when Shaq has been know to hit cutters and open shooters and get them wide open shots. Mo Williams will be a 3rd option. Well yall will see. You guys keep getting caught up in stats. Williams will score more because he will not have to carry as much. Shaq will allow him to be open more. Shaq's picks will give him so nice lane time ever now and then because Shaq will probably be less mobile for most of the time. Lebron and Mo Will give Shaq lobs that he could finish with a dunk or catch it reposition than score. Also look at the coach Mike Brown loves to control temple and has the inside player to do it.

Ray Allen

Is the best 2nd scoring option. A number two to me can still create his own shot he just is not as explosive and all around as the number 1. The number 1 tends to go to the line more. I see Mo Williams more effective as a number 3. If he is always their number two I do not see them getting a title. He is a good spot up shooter. Ray Allen is a good number two, because he shoots lights out, and is tough off the dribble too. If Yao is one a healthy T mac would be 2. I dont view Mo in that category.

Mo is actually a legit #2

Seems that one person is continually saying Mo wasn't a legit #2 b/c he disappeared in the Orlando series. Well, when Lebron is playing 1 on 5 and averaging 42 pts per game, other players start watching instead of playing. For those of you who've never played the point guard position, it's extremely hard to do when you don't have the ball in your hands!

Mo has bailed the Cavs out of plenty of tough spots last year in the regular season and the playoffs, and lets be real here people.... How the hell do you have the best record in the league, and your second highest scorer isn't a legit #2???????

when your #1 is LBJ. Like I said in the Regular Season, you play more teams who either ( give up after the 3rd if their losing or not on the same level)

The reason why I bring up Mo Williams is because Cleveland was up in every game but game 6 because of Lebron. The Cavs did not help LeBron at All that whole series. If your a legit #2 option, you should show up in the playoffs!

Like I said

He is a damn good player, but no team wins a title with him as a number 2. Yeah he was number 2 with the Bucks, but the team was not good so I rest my case. Guy is a hell of a player, but not a number two who gets you to the promise land. Yes he is playing the number 2, but they are not winning a title with him number two. Pippen wasd a number two, and Kobe was 2 to Shaq. Sorry Mo is not a number 2 who will get you there.

Since when did Ray Allen

Since when did Ray Allen become a 2nd option. He has been at least a 3rd option on Boston teams. He was a second option back in the day with the Bucks with Glen Robinson but in Seatle he was a 1st option and now he is a 3rd option behind Pierce and KG and even with KG down Rondo was more of an option then he was. How else was he getting wide open shots.

Also I said that Mo Williams

Also I said that Mo Williams would be a better 3rd option but he is alright as a 2nd option but I doubt the offense that Cleveland runs is to Mo Williams strength. That is why he did not look as good in the playoffs. Mo Williams is best when he can be creative. In Cleveland only Lebrons gets that much green light.

Cavs have Lebron and play

Cavs have Lebron and play defense and against most regular season teams that is enough. They won like 50 games without Mo Williams. I do believe Mo Williams helped them because he probably added 4 points a game to their offensive numbers and with them being a defensive team first that was enough for 10 more wins. When you look at the top 1 2 punches in the league and overall talent. Mo Williams would be a 3rd option.

Ray Allen

Is the second highest scorer on the team. We are talking currently Shelton. He would be the second option. Thats what a second option is. Right now he is the guy they go to if not Peirce. Not in Milwaukee obviously, but right now he is and thats fact.

scout for real you serious

scout for real you serious say that in the Boston Celtics offense Ray Allen is a stronger option than KG and Rondo. That is your argument. Ray Allen is mainly a shooter very strong from 3 so he will average more than Rondo and KG but they get more possessions and touches every game. The Boston Celtics can run their offense through KG and Rondo. Allen just makes shots and maybe get iso plays called for him. Even Pierce has plays run through him but Allen is just a shooter.

Yes

The second option at the end of the game if they don't go to Peirce for a shot. Who will they go to to take the shot is: Ray Allen and I'm serious yes. The second option is scoring not ball handling or who's better it's who gets the ball to get or take the shot. It is Allen. I live in Boston watch everygame. We go to Peirce if he does not have the shot he looks for Allen everytime. Thats the way it is. He is the 2nd option Shelton I'm sorry. He is. Garnett is the best player on the team. The forum topic is 2nd scoring option so this is O.

I still say KG would be the

I still say KG would be the second scoring option on that team. You have to remember scout they said scoring not shooting. If they need a shot then yeah they would go to Ray Allen most of the time if they need a shot, it is a 3 and Allen is their best 3 point shooter. If they need to score they would go Paul Pierce, KG, Allen. Sometimes if they need a play made they give the ball to rondo because he can drive and kick and drive to get fouled. Allen scored a lot this past year because KG was hurt. Allen's first year he barelly scored in the regular season and only had few great games in the playoffs.

Dude check the stats. I

Dude check the stats. I have been watching this team a lot and Ray Allen is a 3rd option if they are all healthy. Also being a scoring option means just that you are an option which mean you will have more chances to score base on success and team advantage. Ray Allen in his average good games scores a lot with little opportunities. This thread is not second highest scorer but second scoring option. There is a big difference. There has been some bench players who were the teams second leading scoring and was not even in the top 5 in scoring option for the team. They just happened to be instant offense and was not closely guarded.

Listen I don't need stats

I can't be convinced I have 82 games plus playoffs to go by. We all see Ray taking those shots at the end of the game because they can't get it to P. It is what it is. He is the second scoring option. Thats all I have to say I have 82 games and playoffs to go by and it is a waist to try to change my mind.
