right now

Bynum. He was playing like a top 5 center prior to injuries each of the last 2 season's. As for who will have a better career, that's tough. They both need to stay healthy, but I'll roll with Bynum right now.

ummm I'm pretty sure that

ummm I'm pretty sure that Bynum is injury prone as well. Oden was just a rookie. Alot of players don't do that well their rookie year and yeah he did have some injuries but he will probably bounce back from that. I know for a fact that Bynum is better now, but I really think that Oden is going to be better in the future. If he has another injured season, then it goes to Bynum for both

Wow

Who is better now? Really? Andrew Bynum is better now and I think he'll always be. He is much more talented offensively and has the same, if not better size than Oden. Oden is more of a presence defensively, but Bynum is no slouch on that side either. I would always chose Bynum over him.

Bynum is by far the better

Bynum is by far the better player now but I see Oden being better than him when it is all said and done. Oden is more explosive once he gets his legs back. I also think Oden is stronger.

Obviously Bynum is better

Obviously Bynum is better right now... He's been in the league longer, which means he's had more training, practice, playing time and overall experience. He also gets to work with arguably the greatest center of all time on a daily basis. He's been around greatness every day he's been in the NBA considering his coach is arguably the greatest coach of all time and his teammate is one of the greatest players in NBA history. He SHOULD be better right now.

However, IF Oden stays healthy he WILL catch Bynum and then PASS him. Compare their rookie seasons and tell me who was better? Despite coming off microfracture knee surgery and battling foul trouble all season Oden put up decent numbers. Bynum was terrible his rookie season and barely saw the floor. IF Oden can stay healthy, in one-two seasons he will squash Bynum.

Question

But dont you think that working with the best center of all-time will help Bynum continue to get better? I mean Bynum still has alot of potential, and can gain strength easily without loosing agility and speed. Oden doesnt have the luxury of that great a big man coach.

Sorry Folks, I gotta go with

Sorry Folks, I gotta go with Oden. I think Bynum is good in the Regular Season but not the Postseason. I think I would go Oden and let him improve

If you take Oden, then fine. but don't hold Bynum's postseason against him. He was nowhere near 100% and by the time he came back, Phil was already settled with playing Gasol and Odom together most the time. Bynum is still 21 and his ofensive game is pretty far ahead of Oden's.

Bynum

the 11 mill kicks in next year and for a top 5 potential center, it sounds about right. Bynum has had 2 30 game stretches where he has shown brilliance. If he can stay healthy, I have to believe he could do that kind of stuf on the norm. Oden should be awesome as well. But he looks like he is uncomortable unless he can back his man all the way under the basket. Keep him away 5+ feet, and he does'nt have as many moves as Bynum. I think the contract will be very worthy, especially if the Lakers lose Odom.

Listen... Bynum will be

Listen... Bynum will be good. I mean, despite his injuries he's still big, talented and athletic. He's also surrounded by greatness. He's light years ahead of Oden offensively at this point. Bynum will be a VERY good center for many many years to come.

However, Oden is a different kind of an animal lol. He's a beast in every sense of the word. Being from Indianapolis, I've had a chance to witness his dominance. He has IT. I've seen a lot of good players come through Indiana, but never one like him. His teams barely lost. I've never seen one player literally shut down the paint. He took ownership of the paint. He has things you just can't teach. This is a guy who will never lay down lol. He'll never stop working hard. He'll always be the first one at practice and the last to leave. He'll always be a great teammate. He'll never complain... Never cry... Never whine. He'll always do the things that it takes to win. I could go on and on why he'll be better than Bynum IF he can stay healthy. I'm just going to hope and pray that Oden gets and stays 100% healthy... I want to sit back and watch him get his confidence and swagger back. You'll all see what I'm talking about when it happens.

Please

When you make a comparision, make it somewhat a discussion. Oden is in no way comparable at this time.

Oden

I like Drew Now. But, Oden reminds me to much of a bigger / taller Dwight Howard. Both of them were limited, but look at D Howard Now. He stays by the rim but is unstoppable in their. Oden already has a bigger frame the D Howard at this point, is athletic, long,str8 passer and a good defender. Offense can be taught. Defense can improve, but being Athletic is rare with 7 footers. He also tested in his combine in the small forward range for athletics. Plus he is VERRRRYYYY coachable.

Personally...

I don't care for either. Bynum is beyond lazy, in fact he might define it. He always seems non-motivated and so nonchalant. On the other hand, Oden is much harder to evaluate, because he is so badly out of shape. Oden isn't fluid, but at times he does seem to change the game (for about 30 sec), then you see him hunch over gasping for air. I hope its due to him being injured, if not, then he has more issues than Bynums laziness. So to answer, if I must choose, now I would take Bynum. However, I would push him to his limits as a coach.

Right now Bynum is clearly

Right now Bynum is clearly better and I fully expect him to have a very good career. He has a lot of potential. I am in the minority, but I think when all is said and done, it will be Oden that has the better career. He has potential to be a game-changer defensively, and I expect him to score 15-17ppg on a well-balanced, up and coming Blazer team. It will be his defensive presence that will make him the superior player. Of course, he has to stay healty. Bynum's injury history is very much of concern as well.

Not so easy

It's not really that easy to call. We are comparing two injury prone big men that if they both meet their ceiling are going to develop into two completely different players. What hurts both of them is that their confidence is shaken. I think whoever gets over the mental and physical hurdles first is probably going to be better, so with that I am going to say Bynum. I think he is just in the better overall situation. Winning championships should help erase how poorly he played.

I think I have always had a problem with Oden being so uncoordinated, though if he can get his stuff together at worst you could have an elite rebounder and defensive prescence. The guy had a really high rebounding rate...it just happened that he had a really high foul rate. If both guys reach the potential that everyone expects, then Oden is going to be the better player, I just don't think that will ever happen.

Oden uncoordinated? You must be talking about a different Oden.
