Celtics?

Does picking up Rasheed and Marquis who averaged 16p a game with 6-7 rebounds make them the best in the east? Do people still think they are not as good as a Orlando team that took 7 games to get by them without Garnett or Powe? Or is it the same excuse, they are old?

Celitics

Right now I have them number one in the east with Orlando closely behind. The Celtics are loaded and play great D. The return of Garnett with some other additions makes them a strong favorite. But their key players are old, and I'm not as high on Rondo as most people are. Keep in mind that with the Magic, they have added some good talent and have Jameer coming back to full strength. DHoward will be heavily motivated and with Lee and Hedo gone, Pietrus will play more minutes as their best defensive option on the perimiter. It should be very close between those two teams.

im bout to breakit down

for you. its all about matchup these days and how well do they fit in.
the celtics have added wallace a big man who can play the 4 and 5 , a great defender who can shoot.
and they got daniels a wingplayer who can defend as well.
now getting into your question.
if boston does play orlando in the ecf finals next season. i can see boston giving us problems.
but at the sametime we will give them more problems.
lets look at the matchups.
point guard- rondo vs neslon. rondo is quick and a great playmaker. but nelson is both as well who can shoot the lightsout plus hes stronger.
sg-allen vs carter- allen is deadeye shooter. but hes getting older and his shot is always off and on. and with carter now on board i dont think allen can guard a motivated carter. plus we can put air france on him and shut that &$#%#&@! down.
sf-pierce vs shard- pierce will have his way with shard. since shard cant defend. but shard will still knock down those 3s. anyway we can put air france on him and let carter guard allen. or if we add barners . we can put him on pierce. also we slid anderson to the 3 as well and cause problems .
pf- sheed or kg vs bass- sheed or kg are gonna get theirs. but bass is quicker and stronger than what yall think he is.
also we can play shard here too, or gorat and maybe sometimes anderson to spread the floor.
center- perkins or kg vs dwight. now i know perkins plays good d on dwight and so does sheed if he guards him. but i really think dwight improves his offense and makes guarding him harder. now if look at the bench of each two teams.
the magic have more depth and can cause alot of problems
the celtics really dont have a good bench like that.
as for as coaching. i dont think doc is a good coach. i think its his asst.coaches. but anyway theirs my answer.

thetruth87. Rondo drove Nelson crazy in the games they played when Nelson was there. That team needed 7 games to squeak by us without Garnett. They will be even less effective with VC than with Turk. We will blow them away easy.

lol. Yeah he did not eat JJ like he should of. Even still 7 games without our best player. Celtics got better and Orlando has not. Celtics are the team to beat in the east 4 sure. Perkins is Dwight's kryptonite and we all know that. Orlando had trouble with Detroit in years past because of the way he matches up with Rasheed. The match ups are in the Celtics favor. Better team

j.j.

j.j. needs to leave the league as soon as possible, so cocky at duke, what happened big man? anyway, a healthy boston is top dog, no doubt. orlando had a helluva year, but we all know "2nd place, 1st loser"...beantown's got 17, and 1 more than orlando has had in their existence. i think the offseason moves about even out, tipping towards orlando a little.

orlando: vince, ryan anderson, lose c.lee who is think is going to be great
celtics: sheed, daniels, lose big baby

magic

i think they will be improved quite a bit. Carter and Hedo might be a bit of a wash between those two. But adding Ryan Andersen, Brandon Bass, CJ watson, and getting Jameer back healthy are all huge moves. Pietrus should continue to improve and DHoward will be very hungry and should improve as well. I think it is about a toss up between them and Boston.

Celtics still the top team

Celtics are better, KG is the best player out of those two teams. People make too much of Pierce, Allen getting tired they had to carry the load the bunch stunk. Now they have Sheed, Daniles, and KG to help them.

The Celtics still have baby

They can match any offer he gets. It is starting to look like he might have to stay and take a one year deal. It looks like they are going to keep him or sighn and trade. They will not lose him for nothing from the looks of it. People underestimate Hedo in the fourth quarter compared to VC. Hedo was that teams playmaker. Vince does not handle the ball as well of the dribble with the same decision making ability. I think losing him and gaining Vince hurt that team. I don't see it as a wash. Yes I still believe Vince was the better player, but Vince looked weak verse the C's the last 3 years in a row. He is not the same.

I agree with everything you have said, but I think we are in the minority on this site. I don't think Hedo was a superstar, but everyone has underestimated what he does for that team. Everyone wants to talk about chemistry, but the Celtics have everything they need....a bunch of guys that are motivated to win a championship. Every guy is going to play hard and every guy with from what I have heard (with the exception of Rondo) is a team first guy. As it was, last year the Celtics had no problem single covering Howard and keeping him off the boards, now they have the 3 guys that defend him better than any others in the league. I wish everyone would stop acting like this is Vince Carter when he first got in the league and for every smart move "Air France" makes, he tends to make a stupid mistake right after. Marquis Daniels was a huge upgrade because he is a guy that can play the 2 and 3 positions and defends really well off the bench. If they get Big Baby on a one year contract, teams really better watch out.
