MANY PEOPLE WILL DISAGREE WITH THIS

I think if Miami adds Odom and Boozer, The East will be better than the West.

The conferences are very

The conferences are very similar. The top 3 teams are very strong in both conferences. 4-8 are unknown in both also. This might be the year where a under 500 team makes the playoffs in the west. Same may happen in the East.

You cant be a pretender when

You cant be a pretender when you get 3rd seed in the west....they sucked in the playoffs, but thats mainly due to inexperience

Teams with losing records

Teams with losing records will still be able to get a playoff seed in the east last year jazz were 8th with 48 wins with an injury prone boozer who missed 37 games last season

Knickboys you cool peeps but

Knickboys you cool peeps but that will not put the East over the West. All that would do is make Miami close to being the top team and make a playoff team stronger. The West is almost 10 deep in potential good playoff teams. The East can go maybe 7 deep and the last 2 or 3 are barely able to make it and would get demolished by the top teams. In the West it is a free for all no matter what seed you have unless you go up against the Lakers in the first round. I dont think the Lakers ever lost in the first round when they were the top seed.

West has banged up team that

West has banged up team that would beat Cleveland and Orlando. I think people do not understand how deep the West is as far as talent wise and team wise.

Depends what you're

Depends what you're measuring, I think the top 4 seeds in the east will be better than the West's top 4, the 7 and 8 spot in the east will probably hover around 40-42 wins. In the West the lowest seeds will be in the 48-50 range as usual. And I'm sorry Knicksboy but the Pistons are not contenders, if by contender you are referring to championship aspirations, I can see them in the 5, 6, slot, but Stuckey is still not a floor leader, and a couple weapons on offense can't bring back the championship chemistry they had that brought them to all those eastern finals.

Lets see...

NO!!! East will prolly still have another team or two who make the playoffs with losing records. That pretty much sums this up.

I'm Not Sure

What's going to happen or which conference will be better. All I know is that it looks like there are going to be these super teams that dominate and other teams with a lot of losses. There is going to be a huge gaps between teams this year, with not many teams in the middle.

i think

that it would make it very close. But I would'nt say better. The west will still have teams close to 50 wins battling it out just to make the playoffs. If you look at: Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, and Nuggets as being equals with Magic, celtics, Heat, and cavs, but you also have to look at the other playoff teams in the west like Hornets, Jazz, Blazers, Suns as being clearly beter then teams like Detroit, Hawks, Toronto, Sixers etc...

Also, to Kincksboy, you honestly think that Detroit will be title contenders? They don't have single all-star, Stuckey is unproven as a point, and the center position is still pretty weak. Neither Gordon or Charlie V play good defense. I think they will be solid, but far from a legit contender.

Those are two underrated BUMS...

I know its sounds crazy, but I couldn't think of anyway to put it... Odom is so unpredictable when it comes to how he's going to play. Boozer is unpredictable because you don't know if he's going to play... Then you add that with they're two of the most talented players in the NBA, next to unstoppable when they are on, and you have some underrated players... But that hence the name Underrated BUMS... Don't get your hopes up high... Both players will disappoint you BIG time... Its a 20% chance that Boozer and Odom will have a good impact on the Heat...

The top teams in the east

The top teams in the east will be better, but the west in general will be better still in my opinion.

Neither of those guys are anywhere close to being bums. They might not be the number one or number 2 guy on a championship caliber team, but Odom was huge for the Lakers in winning a title and Boozer put up all-star caliber numbers despite missing almost half the season. They are far from bums.

Here's the difference: The Suns, with a 46-36 record, didn't make the playoffs last year while the Hawks, with a 47-35 record, were the fourth seed in the East. And the Pistons, with a 39-43 record, made the playoffs.
