name your top 3 teams in the league. and 1 favorite player.
Philly- I liked Iverson when I was really young, then they drafted Iguodala and of course he's my favorite player EVER.
Atlanta- I live in the A, and go to games all the time because of season tickets. They finally have a squad now after alll these years lol
Washington- I think they play with swagger, which I like. I also am a big Nick Young and Javaris Crittenton guy, they are my favorite young players.
Fan of the league... More of a fan of players... Because rarely do you see great players stay with their teams... Although I always loved what the Blazers did with their rosters. They ALWAYS had talent...
Player: Kobe... Best player in the league...
then D. Wade, CP3, Tracy, and AI. then LeBron and Melo.. Was the biggest AI fan growing up... Had the braids and shoes and everything like him... LOL...
1. Bulls - born in chicago area, family moved stuck with the Bulls
2. Clippers - terrible in the 90's when i started following NBA, an underdog i've been pulling for since
3. Thunder - young team with a lot of talent, fun to watch grow as a team
my favorite player right now is Kevin Garnett, it was a conflict of interest when he moved to the Celts, but i've loved his versatility, intensity, defense, and athleticism even since he broke into the league
LA LA... is the team i've grew up with watching magic... than the dog days with c. cebellos/van exel/campbell back to the glory of shaq/kobe... and onward
Raptors home town team gotta love them
Portland... just like the way the gm has gone young and the ability to continue to draft well and pull the trigger on trades to improve the team
Yeh... I really like players rather than teams but
Grizzlies (I really want OJ and Rudy to take over the league like i think they should)
Suns (Steve Nash is nice)
New Orleans (I like watchin Chris Paul turn nothing into something)
Favorite Player: Brandon Jennings (Since his Compton days wit Demar Derozan to his Oak Hill days to when he went toe to toe wit OJ Mayo and held his own in ABCD camp... He just has that flare that I wanna c in a player... watch he will be a beast in the league... hes my favorite player already)
Utah Jazz (Ever since I was 7 and Utah lost to Chicago in the 1998 finals.)
Indiana Pacers (Vintage Pacers were awesome. Foster, Hansbrough, Rush and Granger are favorites of mine.)
Minnesota Timberwolves (Tough-Luck underdogs. I think they are putting together something that can compete for a playoff spot pretty soon.)
Favorite Non-Jazz player - Danilo Gallinari (He is just fun to watch. Sharp-shooter and good passing intincts. Can't cheer for the Knicks though, the Jazz have their first round pick this season.)
Pacers - My hometown squad... I've been a fan since I started watching basketball. Danny Granger is one of my favorite players.
Other than that, I root for and am a fan of players from my hometown and that I know personally:
Eric Gordon - Grew up w/ me, so I watch the Clippers just because of him
Josh McRoberts - I've been knowing him since the 5th grade. My boy.
George Hill - Same as Gordon, so I watch the Spurs even though they're boring.
Greg Oden
Courtney Lee
Rodney Carney
1. Rockets- Tmac has been my fav player since the 1st time I saw him in the 2000 dunk contest, once he signed wit ORL it was a wrap...where he goes, I go!!!
2. Nuggets- JR Smith is another of my favs, been crazy over this guys game ever since I saw him in the McDonald's HS game...they have the best starting 5 in the league, I also have about 7 different Melo jerseys, & have been wit K-Mart since his NJ days!!!
3. Warriors- Monta Ellis is my 2nd favorite player, this guy literally finishes EVERYTHING once he gets in the paint, and his mid range J is pretty automatic...my whole family is from Mississippi, so I've been on this guy since he was a sophmore in HS...I would fly from LA to Jackson just to catch his games!!!
Top 3 teams of mine:(difficult to choose with so many interesting teams, sorry C's, I'll pass on you now.)
1. Chicago Bulls - I have always been a big big fan of the Bulls ever since the Michael Jordan era. I have watched them hold championships after championships. I have seen them fall and made some head-scratching picks in trying to rebuild. I have watched them waiting patiently until they finally got a guy named Derrick Rose...I wish that Luol Deng will rebound from an injury-plagued season. I hope its a new start for the Bulls team...
2. Cleveland Cavaliers - I am a big fan of the Cavs #23 LeBron James. He just needs to learn how to swallow losing but I am hoping Cleveland will go over the hump and win a title. They had made interesting moves this summer and I am excited to see them play.
3. Atlanta Hawks - Two players are intriguing to me. First is Josh Smith. He is a super freak and he makes a lot of highlights for the team... From the superb athletic dunks and alleyoops to the chasedown blocks he makes. It's just fun to see him make those amazing plays. Second is Marvin Williams, I am rooting for him due to the fact that he is a Tar Heel and I respect his game a lot... He needs to show that he can take on the pressure in order for him to improve more. I hope to see them soar higher.
Honorable Mentions: Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Charlotte Bobcats...
My favorite player is Derrick Rose...(the fastest point guard alive)
Fave team.....duh the Knicks
I always root for Golden State especially the playoff season they knocked out #1 seed Dallas.
I like to watch the Bulls because I envy them having Rose
My favorite player used to be Iverson because he was more entertaining than the entire Spurs team but now I think I'll go with Mayo because I like his confidence with the basketball and maturity.
Knicks
Kings
Bulls
In that order...and I'm a Kevin Martin fan. Plus, I think Martin can be so much better than what he is now.
I have been a Knicks fan since I was born, I have been a Kings fan ever since they acquired Chris Webber for another one of my favs Mitch Richmond, and I have liked the Bulls for one obvious reason, Micahel Jordan. As a kid I wanted to be like Mike damn it!
Iguodala9, you aren't alone in your love for AI2, dude is awesome.
funny story about him. i don't know how old everyone here is, but i was playing a drinking game when he was in the rookie-soph game and i picked him cuz im a big fan and took shots of vodka every time he made a shot.... and i think he made 15 fgs or something like that.... i dont know if i took all 15 shots, but i know it didn't turn out well.
i also like russell westbrook a lot, and anyone else who went to UCLA. i think afflalo is going to showcase more skills next year and he is an able defender to replace dahntay jones. luc richard is a good defender
KG is awesome
Twolves are my squad, even though they suck
Top three teams. This is going to be tough but here we go.
#1 Phoenix Suns
Been though thick and thin with this team. Went from the Barkley era to the Marbury era to the Dantoni/nash era to the idiot gm era. I still love this team tho. I have too many good memories to let them go.
#2 Memphis Grizzlies
Always liked Pau Gasol and when he left I still liked what the had with Rudy Gay. With Mayo on board, the future looks bright and.
#3 Okc Thunder
Could have went with Heat or Bulls but went with the Thunder. They have my two favorite college basketball players with Durant and Harden and I like everyone on the team basically.
3 non playoff teams. wow, I was basically depressed in the postseason.
Favorite Player: Im going to have to go with Dwyane Wade. I watched him at Marquette and I knew he was going to be good. He does just about everything you can ask out of him. I dont see any holes in his game either. I would say he is the most exciting player in the league right by Kobe and Lebron.
LL,
I've been watching the Bruins since I've been watching TV. my grandparents and some of my dad's siblings went there and a lot of my family still lives out there. my grandparents would videotape all the games (basketball and football) throughout the year cuz i couldn't really watch em being from MN. and, if there was ever a game on while i was visiting i would be stuck with the job of pausing the video recording during commercials. lol i'd say i've been watching for like 18 years? since i was about 4
favorite bruins: I always thought Dijon Thompson would have some sort of success in the NBA but that never really happened...how can u not like a guy named Dijon. Tyus Edney~ duh. Obannon brothers, although they didn't do shit. Jaron DUMBASS (for coming out so early) Rush. toby bailey. the background on my computer is darren collison pounding his chest after putting up the floater against texas A&M... Luc & Alfred, josh coulda been really good but for that injury. like i said before aaron and jordan also from that class are two of my favorites. Baron and Earl, although I didn't think Earl was ever going to be in the NBA. and my all-time favorite~ Russell Westbrook... I've been saying he's the shit since he was a freshman. always had those long ass arms and that quickness.
almost forgot Cameron Dollar!
Your name sounds like a big 10 fan but you obviously know your stuff. I always thought Dijion was gonna do something. I actually played aginst him in highschool a couple times. Watson and Barnes were my favorites becuase they played with heart. Jaron, Jelani and Jerome were the biggest dissapointments in my mind. They wasted lots of talent. I'm biggining to think Jrue might become the 4th wasted "J". Farmar, Afflalo, Westbrook, and Love are gonna be doing some things for the next 10 years. Bruins are gonna struggle next year though.
yeaaaa, i'm from MN, and I go to school at Univ Wisconsin so I am a Badger fan, but nowhere near as much as I'm a Bruin fan. my roommates get pissed cuz everytime a bruin is on TV I ask them if they know where... matt barnes, or earl watson, or baron davis, went to school... lol. safe to say they know every professional athlete that went to UCLA. the only thing i really remembered about matt barnes was seeing him at the point of the full court press and him having those long arms! He always played 4 during those days (i believe), so I never really thought he had a legit chance at the NBA
my name just comes from a business i ran last year, Badger Hustle, which used to have a website but that expired in early July. that business failed, hence the eX badger hustler.
the bruins are definitely gonna struggle a bit next year, and it will be weird to not have DC around cuz he had the ball so damn much the last 4 (but esp the last 3) years. I think Malcolm Lee is going to surprise some people if he can stay healthy. From the limited minutes I've seen him play, he was a crafty guy and used the glass well. Jerime needs to get in control.
The biggest question is down low. I almost had a heart attack when I saw Gordon got hurt earlier in the summer, and then it turned out to not be too serious. hahaha i live and die by my bruins!
If Jerime and Malcolm can get things done in the backcourt, and Gordon can step it up in the front court, the Bruins can possibly crack the top 25. But this is clearly the least talent they had since Howland took over. Barnes did'nt play much his first 2 years, but he stepped up big in his last 2 years. I actually went to his house in Sac and played him at some Madden one time, he was cool.
I don't watch too mutch football unless the Bruins are representin, so are they gonna be all right this year?
Name your top 3 favorite teams in the nba. You can only name 1 favorite player.
Memphis - since the vancouver days.
Miami - The first time i saw wade..i was amazed. (( wade is my favorite player in the league )).
OKC - Do not call me a bandwagon fan, they are just entertaining to watch.
