His team is 3-0 in summer league with him running the show. He has been clutch the last two games as well, like the article said nailing big 3's. I understand this is just summer league, but a lot of people said he was raw. Has he changed anyones mind positive or negative?
He is doing as well as I thought he would offensively and playmaking wise but his defense is above what I thought. Still has a lot to work on but it is getting harder for me to see Bucks keep Sessions with him playing like he is they could trade Sessions and get some assets in return. Bucks are weak at the 3 and 4.
He isn't quite as good as of a shooter as I once thought. That being said though he is a lot better on defense than I thought too. He gets a lot of steals and puts constant pressure on the opposing ball handler. If he improves his jumpshot & shot selection then I think he could be a very good starter in the league..assuming he keeps his mind right
i never understood why people said he was raw. he isnt raw at all
I was saying they were bragging about how good his D was over there in the Euro league. If he is willing to play D Skiles will like him. He will get the minutes more than likely start. I have a feeling him and Meeks will like playing together. I saw some one of their games and Jennings looks for Meeks often. Meeks does not like to miss much either if you find him quick.
Jodie Meeks in the second is looking like Michael Redd part two and I only mean the situation.
I don't think he's ready for the NBA physically wise, but quickness/speed wise... He's impressed me. His speed/quickness is ELITE right now. He also is better at running a team than I thought he'd be. I think that as long as he keeps his attitude in check, he has a chance to be really good.
He is a more patient run the offense type of point than I think people thought.
he's awesome. he got like 7 steals in his last game.
His attitude/cockiness/immaturity whatever u want to call it is what kind of got me off his bandwagon for awhile..... As long as he controls himself he should do just fine in the nba. I would still take Evans over him. I would take Jennings over Flynn and wouldn't think twice about it.
i think when they mean RAW they mean he is a bad ass haha,,,dude is gonna be a stud
at all at how jennings is playing. i knew all the talk about jennings could be a bust and all kinds of other thing were jus talk. the kid can ball. yea he's cocky and has a mouth on him but honestly i think this kid is either a genius or a complete idiot. I say genius because hes coming in with all this hype and doing and saying alot of things that are getting under ppl's skin yet i guarantee people will want 2 watch him play becuz they want sumthing to say about him. he could jus be another terrell owens who is constantly in the public eye but there is no denying his talent in his respective sport. i seriously think he has a chane to make the all rookie 1st team
It never occurred to me to make the comparison, but Jennings to T.O. might end up being accurate when it's all said and done. Great skills, big mouth.... we'll have to see how he handles himself during the season and how it affects his team-mates, but if he's not careful Jennings could be headed down that path.
Honestly I think people are overreacting. He only got caught saying some things that were controversy once and he actually said something about Rubio only once. I think he is smart enough from his time overseas not to hurt his standing with teammates and also he is point guard that actually passes. How hurt could his teammates be. TO problem was he was a receiver who wanted attention and wanted to be the man. These are totally different situations. Jenning got caught saying stuff that all of us say in our post behind screen names. It was not like he did or said anything that most were not saying. You should not judge people on something like that especially when you are giving him a double standard. I know yall are young but don't act like money and fame would get you to knock think or say some of stuff yall post on here. Maybe you may be wiser not to say it in public but it will not stop you from saying it. How bad is what Jenning did compare to Lebron not releasing a tape of him being dunked on. Jenning like many said before has the chance to be a star and he may do that. Also there are a lot of guys in the NBA with small frames that have success. AI is one of them. Jennings may also get bigger over time. A lot of players got bigger from their first year to their second year. After taking a beating here for longer than when he played overseas, he will do more to get bigger. Trust that. Also he probably is stronger than he looks.
I agree with everything you said
They even mention it in the article... He gambles alot which is rewarding, but DOESN'T mean you play defense. I've watch this dude play in person and "defense" is something he needs to work on BAD. But to his credit, he's capable and IF willing, he would be one of the best defensive PG''s in the league (ala Rondo). But actually locking up or containing someone is NOT happening any time soon. I agree with all of you, but don't jump on the defensive bandwagon of his yet. Its impressive numbers, but not yet... And they say RAW because his talent out weighs his skills right now, he really doesn't have a strength but his quickness. He's turnover prone, gambles too much, shot selection is bad, shot is streaky, etc... But he make it up with his speed/athletic ability, vision, and savvy. Which makes him a "Raw" player... Its nothing wrong with that, just means he need to "hone" his talent and "capable" of being one of the best... KG was called Raw, Odom, hell Anthony Randoplh is considered that now... Its IF his head there, I don't know if it is...
yeah the media and fans have wayyy overreacted to his comments..hes as good as i knew he would be though..i also dont think size will be a real issue since most of the pg arent reall big or physically and pretty much non of them post like mark jackson used to do back in the day..he will have problems defensively just like every one else with a dwill or billups but he doesnt have to get much bigger just a lil more stronger which will come with time...very very bright future
undersstand that some of u think the media is overreacting and i agree. but i jus read somebdy reply up there and it said jennings got CAUGHT saying sumthing. but let me say this. i kno some of u saw the interview with joe budden. jennings didnt get CAUGHT talking about the knicks. he didnt get CAUGHT saying rubio aint $hit. he siad it and he meant it. he knew he was gonna be in the public eye when he said the statement and he isnt backin down from wat he said. if he had of gotten CAUGHT saying wat he said then he would have apologized(maybe). and u say T.O. situation is different but its not. jennings is jus goin about his differently. Jennings wants attenion and wants 2 be the man. everytime he's interviewed he has sumthing 2 say about either his skills or someone elses. he's really smarter than he lets on and i think this marketing plan is genius. so saying he got caught behind closed doors isnt a good excuse. In case u havent noticed T.O. is also a genius. if u havent noticed T.O. hasnt gone broke, has reality shows coming out, and is still one of th emost dangerous reciever in the league. all while being the craziest player in the NFL. i like brandon jennings and his cockiness. im drawn to players like that he is being real when letting people kno he thinks he's better. all he has 2 do now is prove it.
when i first starting reading bluedevils post i was ready to write back saying he doesnt know what hes talking about..but the more i read it the more i agree and see where hes comming from..although jennings did apologize for both statements, he is cocky and i also like that. that shows me a player has alot of confidence in his self and thinks he can become a star..yea damion jones is also cocky and pretty much sucks but jennings runs his mouth and then goes out and backs it up
I don't know about you guys, but his cocky attitude for me is a plus. He speaks his mind and doesn't care what people think. He thrives off of his flashy cocky attitude, and that's why he's different from the rest.
his SAT score most of all.
Yea. Like kg scores right??
