Orlando Summer League: Day 3

Game 7 - Indiana Pacers 95 - Utah Jazz 79

Tyler HansbroughPacers lottery pick Tyler Hansbrough continues to make short work of the Summer League competition leading the Pacers to their 3rd straight win. Hansbrough went for a game high 24 going a perfect 14-14 from the line. Utah threw a number of bigmen on him including Goran Suton, James Augustine and Josh Duncan but none could slow him down.

Second year bigman Roy Hibbert was too big for anyone on Utah to stop scoring a very effective 21 points on 8-12 shooting with 8 boards.

Utah point guard Eric Maynor struggled shooting just 2-9 from the floor for 5 points. He did have 3 assists with just 1 turnover. This is the second game in a row Maynor has shot 2-9 from the floor and while he's done an excellent job of protecting the ball, his shooting woes are concerning.

Second round point guard AJ Price played very well with 14 points on 6-9 shooting with 4 boards 2 assists and 0 turnovers.

James Augustine led the Jazz in scoring with 12 points in 18 minutes of action. Utah fell to 1-2 with the loss.

Rookie Derrick Brown had a decent performance for Utah scoring 10 points on 4-8 shooting but did turn the ball over 4 times. He's got a ways to go, but looks like an excellent pick up in the second round.

Game 8 - OKC Thunder 94 - Boston Celtics 82

After losing by 3 to Indiana the night before, OKC bounced back with a win taking their record to 2-1. With Westbrook and Harden, OKC easily has the most exciting squad to watch.

Russell Westbrook continues to show that he's the most talented player in action at the Orlando Summer League. His 26 points came on an array of athletic plays as he was aggressive attacking the basket. He knocked down all 8 of his free throws, but missed his one three point attempt.

Second year PF DJ White impressed scoring 16 on 7-10 fg.

Rookie phenom James Harden played just 14 minutes scoring 9 points. Fellow rookie BJ Mullens also had a solid effort with 6 pts, 3 reb and 3 ast in 24 min.

Boston was led by second year wing JR Giddens who had 16 on 7-13 from the floor.

Former Tennessee sharpshooter Chris Lofton had it going from deep hitting 4-5 three pointers.

Game 9 - Orlando Magic 108 - Nets/Sixers 86

The Nets/Sixers combo team continues to be the worst team in the SL suffering their 3rd straight blowout defeat.

Orlando forward Ryan Anderson has been on fire all week, again shooting the ball extremely well (3-5 from 3) for 21 points. His teammate Maurice Ager was also impressive matching his point output with 21 on an effective 6-12 fg.

Nets rookie Terrence Williams had his best performance of the SL with 16 points, 7 boards and 4 assists. He has struggled to score this week, but this breakout performance is encouraging.

Sixers rookie Jrue Holiday also had his best performance of the week with 12 points (3-6 fg) 4 boards and 4 assists. He still showed difficulty running the team, turning the ball over 3 times but his shooting improvement should help his confidence.

Second year guard Chris Douglas Roberts came back to earth with just 5 points (1-1 fg) after his breakout performance the day before (27 pts).
