Arnett Moultrie

Arnett Moultrie will not return to the UTEP basketball team for the 2010-11 season.

“Arnett and I have arrived at a mutual understanding where it would be best for him to continue his career elsewhere,” Floyd said. “We wish him well and thank him for his contributions over the last two seasons.”

“I enjoyed my experience at UTEP playing basketball and making progress towards my degree,” Moultrie said.

This has been one of the

This has been one of the weirdest off-seasons I've ever seen. So many surprises from these players declaring from the draft and leaving schools etc etc..

I have seen Arnett play live on multiple occasions and he is definitely not NBA material. It seems him and Coach Floyd were never on the same page. He will probably go to Auburn to play for Tony Barbee or make the mistake of declaring for the draft. He wasn't well liked at UTEP because of his lack of effort he showed and constant threats of leaving(which have come true).

Yeah, I saw him play to see

Yeah, I saw him play to see what all the hype was about with this kid. I came away very underwhelmed. He way to skinny for a post player, and doesn't do any one thing well that translates to being an NBA player right now. Everything he did came in flashes. I would've never known him if he didn't play in the U-19 games last year. Good luck to him though however.

I hope he enters the draft or

I hope he enters the draft or transfer to a ACC team like Duke where his talent could be shown in 2011.

Yeah that would probably be

Yeah that would probably be the best thing for him to do. Transfer to a more high profiled conference and hope to make an impact there, while not only improving his game, but getting slightly more exposure (although I feel no matter where you play, if you're good, they'll find you" . But with how these kids and their families think, they're looking for that quick pay day. So for him to delay his pro career for an extra 2-3 years playing wherever, is probably improbable.
Transferring is not completely a bad thing though, look what it did for Wes Johnson, and Ekpe Udoh.

That would be a good fit

That would be a good fit (Memphis). He actually reminds me of former PF/C for Memphis, Shawn Taggart.
