Greatest scorer at each postion? Now and of All-Time
Who are the best scorers at each position now and of All-Time?
PG. Arenas (Iverson is a SG to me)
SF:Elgin Baylor(Averaged 32ppg first 5 seasons)
PF:Karl Malone (2nd most Points)
C:This is the Hardest Part, with Chamberlain,Shaq,Olajuwon and Kareem
I go with Chamberlain simply because of :
100 Point Game
7 seasons 33+ppg
Then his last season in NBA
72.7% FG% in one season an nba record
PG. D.Rose ..he cant be stopped and IMO he is this generations Iverson with a better understanding of team basketball
SG.D.wade.. i like kobe but wade is just the better scorer now
SF.Durant.. hands down the best now
PF.Amare/Dirk toss up to me because it depends on your preference but they are both outstanding scorers
C.Kareem Abdul Jabar
damn i forgot all about elgin baylor and i agree the center is hard but you have to understand wilt did that against players no taller then 6'8 and more then half of the players were white
pg: i must go with rose but if arenas didnt ruined his career he would been here
sf: durant/melo/james .... i dont know it goes by personal taste... i woul go with durant cause i like way he is playing game
c:Kaman .... I KNOW
c: Abdul Jabbar most guys put chamberlain but i dont consider those old time guys real dominant players cause they were simply giants in those times..
PG: Nash :How can D-rose be talked about he cant even shoot; ill take S. Curry before rose
SG Wade :He score a lot cause his team bad
SF Melo :Everyone say he the best scorer in the game
PF Dirk :Not even close
C Amare :He plays center and is a beast
Jabbar or Shaq
how can you say durant over melo and lebron? he just got shut down by ron artest.
you gotta be kidding me nash and curry over rose are you serious if rose played in that playground basketball style he would score even more points and nash cant get where he wants on the court and its easier to contain nash and curry because all they are are shooters and rose can dominate any defender you put on him.. and melo is a good scorer but no SF in the game can score like Durant IMO he has the purest Js in the game and took the most FT in History and shot 90%
Lebron has a streaky jump shot and is an average three point shooter and free throw shooter
Melo is good but he cant shoot the J like Durant and cant get to the line like Durant
Are you serious, it's easy to contain Nash, did you watch him in Game 1 against San Antonio. I think he made like 4 or 5 layups in a row against a good defender in George Hill.
how can you say durant?
well hes the league leading scorer
PG- D. Rose
SG- OJ Mayo
SF- C. Anthony
PF- D. Nowitski
C- B. Lopez
PG- A. Iverson
SG- M. Jordan
SF- A. Dantley
PF- K. Malone
C- H. Olajuwan
-SG: Kobe Bryant
-SF: Carmelo Anthony
-PG: Allen Iverson
-SG: Michael Jordan
-C: Wilt Chamberlain
PG-Derrick Rose/Deron Williams tie
SF-Elgin Baylor (if you wanna consider Elgin a power forward, then larry bird)
pg- d rose
sf- melo(durant needs to do it another 2 years in a row)
pg- allen iverson
sf- dominique wilkins
pf- karl malone
c- kareem abdul jabbar
yeah he led the league but he can't be the greatest scorer if he can't score on ron artest.
trinajoe, I like your list but an all-time greatest scorer list is not complete without the all time best scorer.
Kobe over MJ?
And I don't care who Wilt played against, he scored, at will.
I think you were the only one who put 'Nique in there. Great pick, the only thing he did was score.
SF- Durant(You can go with either Melo, Lebron, or Durant here)
SG- Kobe or MJ
We're talking pure scorers right?
PG- Gilbert Arenas (assuming he's back next year, if not DRose)
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Carmelo Anthony
PF- Dirk Nowitski
C- Amare Stoudemire
PG- Allen Iverson
SG- Air Jordan
SF- Rick Barry (don't believe me? dude put up some crazy numbers)
PF- Karl Malone
C- Tough pick between Wilt or Kareem, but I'm gonna go with Kareem because Wilt's numbers faded alot towards the end of his career
ya nique was a beast. i was more going for who scores easier. i just always thought kobe had more ways to score than jordan. but jordan was the better all around player. thats just my opinion though.
Im shocked to see Amare on so many peoples lists. I always felt he was elevated because of Nash, and wasn't all that great on offense. He scores mostly on dunks, put backs, and the occasional jumper. He's no better then a tim Duncan or Yao Ming

Wow, can't believe nobody has Oscar Robertson on their all time list at PG. He was a true point and he averaged over 30 ppg in 6 seasons, with a career average of 25.7. No other point guard can even touch that.
PG Oscar Robertson
SG Michael Jordan
SF Elgin Baylor
PF Karl Malone
C Wilt Chamberlain
