D.J. Kennedy and Justin Burrell
These are two guys who have chances of making the nba from St. Johns. What do you think of them? You think either of them has a shot?
Unless Burrell does the amazing, he won't get drafted.
DJ Kennedy is an interesting prospect, I think if he works on his defense he can find a niche for himself in the NBA. He's a solid scorer, but that would not be his role in the NBA. Nice 3 ball.
Have they declared and signed agents? D.J. Kennedy has a great shot, smooth scorer with a killer instinct, and he's a lefty which gives him an advantage, needs to work on his D though.
D.J. Kennedy is a nice athlete and he can spot up shoot. I think he could be a Mikael Pietrus type of player in the NBA at best. I really like him. Very exciting player to watch.
Burrell looks the part of an NBA PF, but he's not a good offensive player. He isn't great facing up or with his back to the basket. He also is a bad defender in all the St. John's games I watch. He's not going to make it to the NBA.
the answer is no. kennedy has a better shot than burrell however

They are both staying for their senior seasons. Some of the comments i disagree with are - that burrell isn't a good offensive player. I disagree. He has a really nice jumper for a big men but since St. Johns has a million guys who shoot all the time, he doesn't get to show it. He is also not completely offensively deficient with his back to the basket. He has a very nice hook shot. What i find interesting about Burrell is that after his freshman season he looked like he was going to be a star for St. Johns and a surefire nba prospect. He hit midrange jumpers all day, he rebounded well, and showed alot of offensive skill. he was on the all big east freshman team ( which was quite the honor). Then these past two seasons, since Mase hasn't been involved they started going to Paris Horne and D.J. Kennedy all the time. The best system for St. Johns is a system where Mase and Burrel work together with a couple shooters looking for shots and a big man looking for a rebound. I reallly cant understand why they went away from him when he should have been the most important player on the team when Mase went down. Now with Mase gone, the situation doesn't look so good for him. But if you think about it, he is a big man with college three point range ( he can hit from there and does once in a while when open) and a deadly jumper. He has great athleticism as shown by the crazy dunks he has thrown down over these past couple of years. He has alot of muscle and is a very solid rebounder. What nba team wouldn't want a guy like that?
And Kennedy has a nice jumper, good rebounder and a solid defender. He also is really good on the fast break. he has this one move where he glides past the defender in mid air which he does all the time. His only major problem is that he cant beat someone off the dribble which is a huge problem.
Whatever we will see. Kennedy has a better chance of being a nba player but we will have to see what their senior seasons bring. I really hope he gets the ball more often (burrell).
I think paris horne is another guy to be debated about. D-league level player or some bad league overseas?
They're but soild college players D,J is a good all around player could maybe sneek into da 2nd round next yr..Burrell is a great finisher he can play above da rim but st.johns doesn't set him up often enough he kind of reminds me of Hakim Warrick..but I really like Dwight Hardy 4 there team he should be n da startin lineup next yr 4 sure he's there best scorer
