who is the best Pg in the East
after watchin the playoffs who do u think is the best pg in the east
I am going to take other (chris Duhon), lol.
then ill takeSergio Rodriguez
In terms of being a pure playmaker (creating for himself and others) it has to be Rondo easily, but Derrick Rose is a better basketball player than Rondo. I feel that Rondo is a top 3 passer in basketball. He drops dimes. Rose really makes his presence felt offensively scoring the ball, even though he could be a top-notch playmaker if he had more shooters/finishers around him. Rondo is also a better defender, playmaker, and he's more efficient.
i cant really say rondo is a better passer you have to take in to fact that If Rose had one guy you could count on to make a three, just one, you’d see his assists go way up. He was 11th in the league in assists with one of the lowest scoring, worst shooting and poorest three point shooting teams in the league. The Bulls were 29th in three pointers attempted and the Magic made almost as many threes as the Bulls took.
Rondo is the better point guard, but I think Rose is the better basketball player.
Rose can be a first or second option on a championship team, while Rondo will forever be a complimentary player. I guess who I'd want would depend on the makeup of my team.
I think Rondo is a better passer than Rose is. He could be a high level assist guy and playmaker if he didn't play with the Big 3. He's an elite passer who can make all kinds of passes and has great floor vision, while Rose is probably just above average in both areas.
@dolla130. Use the eye test. Rondo is an elite passer and playmaker. I don't think it's even close. Rose is a very good passer and solid playmaker, but those are two areas I think he can still improve.
Rose had Ben Gordan AND Salmons last year, both of whom hit plenty of threes, and his assist numbers wern't good at all, so I'm not sure you argument is very valid, dolla130.
I don't think a point guard could be the main guy on a championship team.
At this point? I'm a huge fan of Rajon Rondo but Derrick Rose is the best PG in the East.
Brandon Jennings could past Rondo in a season or two as well. Jennings is my favorite PG
Let's not forget that Rondo is only 24 years old. He can get better. He'll be tough to stop once he develops that mid-range. He can't shoot now, but yet still manages to get to the rim. Imagine when he can actually knock down a mid-range shot.
Rondo is the best point guard in the East. He does EVERYTHING well, except shoot. Scoring really isn't his role on the Celtics, but he's shown he can do it when he has to. I think Rose is the better player because he can take over a game offensively, but Rondo is the better point guard if you're judging by the the true definition of a point guard.
last year he was a rookie look at rondo's stats before the big three was put together he was wack and he had pual peirce he avg 6pts 3ast 3 reb to roses 17 ,6 and 4 so what are you sayin fastdan people always put gordon and salmons in this dicussion when they talk about last year now lets talk about rondo's first 2 seasons he had the peirce his first year and al jefferson and his 2nd season he had the big three and still avg 10 and 5
Rondo also didn't play nearly as many minutes as Rose did in his first two seasons. He played less than 30 minutes per game their championship season.
and rose is only 21 and he is already a better player and with better offensive talent he would easily avg 8 to 9asst and he is becoming a better defender and with noah, gibson he wont need to get rebs
I think for different reasons you can see why both are top point guards. Both help their team win in ways they can. They are both different players so it is a matter of taste. Both are young with mad potential and great skills now. Rondo is probably the better passer as of now but I think they has to do with experience and having veteran options. Every pass Rondo can make Rose probably can do the same but the thing is Rose is expected to score and Rose does not have the options that Rondo has. Allen and Pierce can shoot from all over at good percentages. KG is good inside finishing and even though they are not that strong offensively as KG both Perkins and Davis make a good percentage of their shots.
I would go with Rose because Rondo's lack of offense hurts him as a threat and you open up the offense if you are a threat. Rose will be able to do almost everything Rondo can do and more next year. His team will be better and I am sure he will work on his defense.
Give me my boy D-Rose. Look at what he has done so far and put Chicago on his back in the 4th quarter of their first home game against Cleveland.
RONDO!!, ( chuck and kenny from TNT)
I don't understand the hate for Rose (not pointed at anyone in particular btw)....
Thankfully no 1 was dumb enough to say Jennings is better than Rose or Rondo.
He might top a 5 PG in the East which is very good after just 1 year but putting him above those 2 guys would be crazy.
Brandon had a great Game 1 but he came down to earth in Game 2.
How are the Bucks doing w/out Bogut now?
Where are all the guys that said the Bucks are better becaz of Jennings and not Bogut?
Rose is probably the better PG, Rondo doesn't have the offensive game he does even if he is a better pure passer and defender. Rondo to be the best PG in the East has to shoot better esp. on 3's and from the ft line.
So many defenders play off of him too which does help him get offensive rebounds.
when all the grandpas on Boston start to hit the brick wall and retire eventually we'll see how many triple doubles Rondo is putting up....meanwhile put 3 hall of famers next to Rose he would lead the league in assists easily.,....all while finding time to boom on people every once in awhile....
He leads all point guards in scoring....
Not to mention he's Lebron James of PG's
