Jazz draft pick

The more i watch the jazz in the playoffs the more i feel they should draft cole aldrich.
The site mock has them getting patterson who is basically boozer pt. 2.
I feel okur is done and aldrich and fesenko could handle the painted area duties and guard the rim.
CJ miles seems to be the future at SF and kirilenko can still play.
But to improve the interior toughness, Aldrich is the answer.
PS: I believe Fesenko can definitely play. His dunks in game 2 were spectacular. He'll be a very solid C in the years to come.

I always say best available.

I always say best available. The only position they dont need any help is pg. A center would be great but if there is a guy they flat out think is better draft him because boozer could be gone and mathews, miles, kirilenko, and even millsap to a lesser degree are not stars or guys you say no way we daft someone at thier position.

I think they will go with

I think they will go with either Patterson because of the whole not signing Boozer aspect. Patterson is a Jerry Sloan type player. Also, they could go wtih Aldrich to make sure they are good up front. that would be perfect. As well, they could go with Henry at SG...Imagine if Deron had a terrific spot shooter ....an athletic one too. Korver is the only other great shooter on the team.....and I mean Henry could be a reach but kid can play...thoughts?

So you'd take paterson if

So you'd take paterson if they still have Boozer and Millsap if you feel he's the best available even when Okur is falling apart and your wing players are pretty bad? He could be the best available, but he isn't going to help your team much if he's playing 12 minutes a game...

I had no idea they were

I had no idea they were thinking about "getting rid" of Okur. But if that's your arguement then, they would obviously take Aldrich who could go to the pistons or 6ers.

I think Boozer will be

I think Boozer will be signed, definitely...means too much to them. So then Aldrich or Henry IMO would be there pick...

Unless the Jazz strike gold...

In the lottery, and land a top 5 pick, I would probably trade the pick for an established player. In my opinion, only Wall, Turner, and Johnson are sure to be really good players in this draft. Everyone else comes with too many question marks. Trade the pick for a veteran player at center, or on the wing. The Jazz will get a bunch of offers from teams wanting that pick. Aldrich would be a decent fit, but I'd like to think the Jazz could turn the pick into something better.

I'm

I'm sick of saying the same thing over and over again, so I'm going to put together a monster-awesome "Who am teh Jazz gonna draft?" topic to end them all.

Coming soon to a forum near you.

The problem

with trading this t0p 10 pick for an established vet. is the salary cap issue. You can land a solid young guy for half the price of a vet.

lots of choices

I agree with the original poster, Aldrich seems like the best option. Boozer may or may not be back next season, but Millsap will and drafting Patterson wouldnt be the way to go. Unfortunately Okur is on the decline and drafting Aldrich brings in a guy that will get 10 boards a game and block and/or alter shots. He doesn't even need to score much. Now if the Jazz get lucky and wind up with a top 3 pick. Than Evan Turner is the man. Wes Matthews was a nice surprise but he would make a nice backup, Turner can be a scoring guard that can take the Jazz to the next level.
