Rank your FAVORITE (not necessarily best) dynamic duos 1-5!!
The NBA has seen its share of "dynamic duos," "Batman and Robins," Terrible Twosomes," WHATEVER corny cliche you can think of involving the number 2. So lets run down our top 5. Now heres the thing: They had to have played a minimum of 3 seasons together, and they didnt necessarily have to be Hall of Fame material, but just your favorite duos you liked watching play the game. Ill kick it off.
1.) Mike and Scottie (Although I was a youngn around the time they were playing, Pops taking me to the games ingrained some amazing images of the two of them together.)
2.) Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton (Probably the best in-game big man dunker Id EVER seen along with my all time favorite point guard!)
3.) Allen Iverson and Eric Snow (Now let me explain! lol. This is mainly because Ivo is and always will be my favorite player, and he carried Eric Snow, the most BORING player to ever pick up a basketball, pretty far! So in actuality, its Allen Iverson and Allen Iverson lol) ((Ill probably still lose points 4 this lol))
4.) Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin (Kidd, my 2nd all time favorite point guard, made Kenyon Martin who he is today! They got to the Finals with Kidd throwing it off the backboard and Kenyon catching it! CLASSIC!)
5.) Jason Williams and Chris Weber (Jason Williams was a madman back when he first got to the league! Dude was fun to watch, made me a Kings fan for life. And adding Chris Weber to the mix just made it sooooooo much better. Mike Bibby was decent, but back when Chris had Jason, you can tell he was having alot of fun, even if they were losing lol)
So thats just me! Go out on a limb people! Be extravagant! Stray away from the usual suspects if possible! What 2 teammates did you most ENJOY watching and wanted to see their highlights on Sportscenter?
Malone and Stockton. Where are they?
Im a Chicago Fan.... Therefore it is in my DNA to hate them. They were left off for a reason. As was Reggie and Mark Jackson, Ewing and John Starks, Barkley and KJ. Gary and Shawn only made it cuz Gary is my favorite!
Yea how can you have a thread about duo and not have stockton and malone
gary and shawn for sure im still in denial that the sonics are gone. honestly as cool as durant is right now just imagine taking him off the thunder and putting him back in sonics green. he gets exponentially cooler
aw man! Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and Kevin Durant would have gotten Seattle a few rings! Gary almost took one from us. That would be totally unfair!
I'm not a Lakers fan but gotta include Shaq and Kobe.
Not in any order
dang abriggs we can only imagine what that would look like. that would be such a nasty big 3 with gary shawn AND durantula. im glad theres someone else out there giving respect to my main man mr glove
Mike and Scottie, Stockton and Malone, Payton and Kemp, Nash and Stoudemire, Williams and Webber, Kidd and Martin were fun to watch too.
1. Mike and Scottie
2. Kobe and Shaq
3. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter
4. Penny and Shaq
5. Magic and Byron Scott
1) Nash & Stoudemire
2) Shaq & Kobe
3) J Kidd & KMart
4) D Williams & Boozer
5) Steve Francis & Cuttino Mobley
Off the top of my head they are my recent favorites.
CP3 and Tyson
troy hudson n kg was sick
1. Jordan and Pippen
2. Stockton and Malone
3. Payton and Kemp
4. Kidd and Carter
5. Nash and Nowitzki
Hopefully oneday i can put Rose and Bosh or Stoudamire up there or maybe Collison and Granger.
Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis
Larry Hughes and Gilbert Arenas
Both of those combos were sick at their best. Especially Mobley and Francis. Super athletic
D-Wade& an any Teammate
Baron Davis and Jason Richardson. Going to the arena to see them play, you knew they'd do SOMEthing to make you jump out of your seat...
1. MJ and Scottie
2. Stocton and Malone
3. Hakeem and Drexler
4. Robinson and Duncan
5. Nash and Dirk
1.) Sprewell and Camby were the heart and soul of the '99 NBA championships losing Knicks team
2.) Marbury and Garnett could have been one of the best duos ever
3.) Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason would knock you on you're ass in you drove into the paint. the original NY bad boys
4.) Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen. Seattle had a very good and exciting team that could change games with the 3 ball
5.) Rose and Noah. Love both of these players but there are alot of gaps between them.
these are not my favorite duos, but these are my favorite "what could have been" duos that did not last or work out.
Larry Johnson and Alonzo MOurning-back to back top 2 picks who manned the low post for a young charlotte team. Zo was the enforcer while LJ was the more skilled perimiter oriented guy. They were both capable of averaging 20-10
Jason Kidd and Penny Hardaway-when penny went ot phoneix to join kidd, he was still considered an elite sg and capable of taking over games. There were articles calling it arguably the greatest back court of all time since they were still young and entering their prime. Of course we found out quickly penny wasnt the same anymore and that what could have been one of the funnest duos in history went donw the tubes.
honorable mention to Kenny ANdersen and Derrick Coleman, Steve Smith and Glen Rice, and the three J's in dallas Jason kidd, jimmy jackson and jamal mashburn.
damn i feel old with this...but Isaiah Thomas and Joe Dumars were sick back in the day
Fat Lever and Michael Adams (and Alex English)
Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackman
Derrick Coleman and Kenny Anderson (early 90s but I had to put em)
Terry Cummings and Alvin Robertson
Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson
