Kevin Durant; Superstar Calls

http://www.nbadraft.net/node/20698?page=2

I was on that thread and I said

"Phil is whining about superstar calls when he has Kobe Bryant on his team, and he's the same guy who's had Michael Jordan on the team."

Then ButlerBulldogs comes at me and says:

"Kobe and Jordan = Bonafied superstars.
Kevin Durant = Superstar talent who's playing his first playoff game.
Big difference. Durant is getting the type of calls that superstars who've won rings get. "

So if you've won rings, you should get more calls?
If you watch Kevin Durant, the way he got fouls was by sweeping his arms through Artest. That is a foul on ANY level. Whether your a backup on a JV team or Kobe Bryant, that's a foul. Whether you're on a 6yr/100m contract or you're on a 10 day contract. According to ButlerBulldogs analogy, if Carmelo drives it in and gets hit a bit by Andrew Bynum, it's no foul because Melo has no rings and Bynum does. But if Fisher drives it in on Nene, it's a flagrant because Fisher has 4 rings and Nene has none.

Rings doesn't matter when it comes to calls.. How do you want Durant to win a ring? He's 21 and he's on a very young team. With this team, he can probably win more rings than Kobe when it's all set and done.

I agree, if Durant isn't a superstar then no one is. Durant has hands down the best offensive game in the L. I used to think Kobe did, but as much as i love Kobe, it's obviously Durant. The way he gets his shot off and gets to the free throw line is at an elite level. Durant is the best scorer in the league and a superstar and deserves the "superstar" calls.

same argument can be made

same argument can be made about fouls at the end of the game. People say when they don't call a foul in the last minute that it was because it was at the end and that the foul would've been called earlier in the game. That is BS, if it's a foul, it's a foul no matter when in the game or who it is against.

I dont really believe in the

I dont really believe in the superstars call, but the
ref's just try to be equal,
Of COurse since the Stars hold the ball more they shoot more, they get more fouls
so some of they fouls is Bad calls
And then of course they get the Benefit of a Doubt

@D3WadeIsBetta. Next time,

@D3WadeIsBetta. Next time, make sure you post all of what I said and not just parts of it. That was a shady news reporter type move. Taking certain things I said and twisting them to make your point.

I also said that obvious fouls should be called. Durant does a great job drawing fouls and he should be awarded. However, there are some fouls that are not obvious. Refs give certain players the benefit of the doubt based on what they've accomplished and how they've played for years. Durant is already getting benefit of the doubt calls like a Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Melo, Dirk, Duncan, etc.

The point wasn't that you need a ring to get a call... The point was that Durant is getting those benefit of the doubt calls like he's been in the league for a decade and has won in the playoffs.

I'm saying that there's a difference between a superstar talent who's playing his first playoff game in his third season and a superstar who's been to the playoffs, won games, won series', made it the finals and won rings. LeBron and Durant aren't the same superstar.

I disagree. Obvious fouls are fouls and should be called, but some fouls aren't obvious and you get the benefit of the doubt by the refs. KD is getting too many of those when he hasn't won anything.

KD plays aggressive and should be awarded, but he's getting too many of those benefit of the doubt calls.

You somehow managed to leave

You somehow managed to leave those posts out, right?

I never said you needed a ring to get a call, which is what you're claiming in your post.

IF I was saying that you need to have a ring to get a call, why did I mention LeBron's name when I said he and Durant aren't the same superstar? LeBron doesn't have a ring yet.

Huh? I made my point clear

Huh? I made my point clear to you in three posts on page two of that thread and you decided to post only one of the posts I made. That's twisting on your part. Then you claim I said you need to win a ring to get a call. YOU made that up.

I mean, who'd say that? That you need a ring to get a obvious foul call? That's dumb...

Yea... Because you feel

Yea... Because you feel stupid. I watched Spiderman 3 with my little nephews today. You remind me of Eddie Brock when he created fake pictures of Spiderman to get the job with the newspaper.

If you want to call me out in a debate, at least be honest... Let's not make stuff up to earn yourself a few kudos.

This website is based on opinion, so there really is no winners or losers... Just opinions and debating. And I was saying based on what you wrote in your main post, you sound confused. You say you're not trying to debate on the internet, but made a post calling me out.

I just thought I'd call you out for making something up out of nowhere. I'm through with it though!
