OKC is weak downlow?

Why do people say that they are the weakest team down low? They lead the league in blocks per game as a team.. They are obviously threatening down low but nobody pays attention to it.

They weak down low. Blocking

They weak down low. Blocking shots doesnt mean their threatening down low. They're just athletic and long. Green is more of a tweener and Krictic is a finesse player. Collison brings grit though

What you said it just

What you said it just ridiculous.. Every player that has ever played the game said that when you play a shot blocking team you always watch out for those players. Do you think guys that are on a fast break against the Cavs don't think about LeBron and the chase down? That's ridiculous, of course blocks matter.

They have size in Collinson,

They have size in Collinson, Ibaka, Kristic and Thomas

I don't think those players however will be able to stop Pau, Odom and Bynum

blocks matter, but they do

blocks matter, but they do not automatically mean you are a tough team. Anybody want to tell me how physically tough Shawn Bradley was because he got tons of blocks.

OKC is decent down low but the lakers have a size advantage on most every team and i think if bynum is healthy, thats what will decide the series.

They don't have anyone

They don't have anyone except Collison who can stop big guys down low. Maybe if Ibaka adds some weight, he might be able to do it too. I don't have any faith in Mullens

It's no coincidence that the Lakers are attacking OKC down low to start this game.

The Lakers do that every

The Lakers do that every game. They always attack down low for about the fist 6-8 minutes then they forget about Bynum and Gasol as soon as Odom comes in. That's what Phil Jackson has been doing for the past 20 years.

blocks

i agree blocks do not mean you are a good low post defender. Most blocks are help side and chase down blocks which does not tell you anything about their man to man defense ability, and with playing the lakers you wont get many help side blocks cause you cant really leave anyone to go and help. Some of the best low post defenders dont block shots, they keep their men out of the lane with physicality and they alter shots instead of leaving their feet for blocks and getting beat most of the time by smart players.

They may get blocks, but not

They may get blocks, but not too many rebounds. I'm talking about just the 4 and the 5 spots. Green is a tweener, and personally I think he is more suited for the 3 and should be traded to a team that will play him at the 3. Cuz he aint playing the 3 as long as Durant is on the Thunder. Krstic is more suited for the Bench. Ibaka and Collison both play on the bench and they should stay there. There backups look pretty strong, so I see them drafting a big to start. Possibly Orton or Alabi.
The Thunder are not the weakest team down low, that honor goes to the Knicks(starting Lee at C, and then Gallo at PF, what are they thinking?)

If i was driving the lane

If i was driving the lane the only guy i'm really thinking about blocking my shot is ibaka. Collison gets a lot of charges but that is help side and not just straight post defence. The lakers are already getting tons of offensive rebounds and will continue to do so this entire 5 game series.

the okc thunder are weak

the okc thunder are weak down low. they have a few guys that can get a block a game thus they have good shot blocking numbers, which is good but they dont have anyone to guard 1 on 1 with gasol or bynum. but this westbrook kid is more impressive than i thought. i always said rose is better but its real close.

Rose is better in my

Rose is better in my opinion. Westbrook isn't the focus of the entire defense like Rose is. Teams go into games to specifically stop Rose and he still scores 28-30 points... And that's without another significant weapon on his team. Even though KD isn't having a great game, he's still the Lakers' main focus and Westbrook does well playing off of him.
